The allies really wouldn't have. We were pushing but in the last few days were were slowing down. If the Russian were defeated and Germany could turn their forces on the eastern front to us in the west we would not have fared too well

Season 1 ep. 2 or season 1 ep. 4 are good episodes to get an impression.
Though you could just go from the beginning, considering how early those episodes are.

And don't worry about it being a villain of the week show after watching a bit, this changes to an actual storyline from season 4 on.
The first 3 seasons are still enjoyable though.

The villain of the week was the best part of the show. The major story arc is still enjoyable, though.

That's just taste.
I, for example, hate villain of the week stuff.
Knowing that nothing of the happening events matter a few days later anyway just bores me.

Ok, the fact that it's a matter of taste was kinda my point. You cast aspersions on the "villain of the week" style the early seasons had. I pointed out that I liked that, then ended it with pretty much a reversed version of your ending statement. The "don't worry" is you assuming that this person you've probably never even met is going to share your tastes.

Oh, I just added that because villain of the week stuff often "scares" people away from a series before they watched enough to get into it.

Basically fights between angels and demons with a sprinkle of other monsters, and the brothers take turns dying and coming back to life. It is a pretty good show though

Starts off with simple monster of the week sprinkled with story, then it gets into some angelic stuff and takes a downward dive in a few seasons after that until the recent season that's fucking awesome

brother's fight spoopy stuff, get mad at each other, leave, come back, get mad at each other, get mad at each other, get mad at each other, socially awkward angel arrives, and an old man says balls a lot

Urban legend, myths, actual scary events in history, religious events, witchcraft etc happen or are repeated and two (radically different) brothers have to find a way to contain it while keeping the existence of all supernatural things a secret.

Two brothers (who the writers pretty much treat as lovers [I didn't know they were brothers when I first started watching it]) hunt monsters. Eventually, some bigger issue has one of them in danger, and through various heart to heart talks between monster killing, they accept their fate, while the other one goes and does something stupid to save them. At some point, Christianity stuff is introduced, and that whole mythos is pretty much the main focus of the show, but it's still good.

... you didn't get the comment did you?
He said america used to be saviors, as in used in past tense, as in around world war 2 and such shit.
Now they are viewed in a far less positive light.

We still are just it's less visible. If we suddenly vanished other countries would be like "whoa shit, they really are helpful"
#126 - nottoointeresting (05/02/2015) [-]
And like I said, people did use to see you that way but whether it's true or not no country (including half of america) sees you that way anymore
#125 - nottoointeresting (05/02/2015) [-]
To be fair America always says that but it's the Russians that really won the war. the invasion by the west was very much almost failing until the Russian's took Berlin. It's just the west sorta went to war with them straight after so we leave that part out history.
User avatar #193 - monkeysniper (23 hours ago) [-]
Yeah but either way even just the pressure on the other side would've done it. and if the russians were stopped we likely would've still won.
