Oh, one more thing as far as exercise- if you don't have a gym membership or can't be arsed to leave your home, look up HIIT videos online. They are usually 20+ minutes of good, solid cardio. Make sure to drink lots of water. Here's a good one:

Good for you! Here are some tips:
In order to get any meaningful exercise from cardio, do at least 20 minutes if you can. 4-5 times per week is good.
With lifting, maybe you could find a friend who knows what they are doing to show you the ropes so you can get the most out of your time at the gym. Again, more than 10 minutes is preferable.

As far as diet, buy a ton of vegetables when you go to the store. Obviously you need to eat meat & carbs, but load your plate with vegetables. You can stuff your face with broccoli, celery, etc and will hardly take on any extra calories from doing so and you will get that "full" feeling. Putting too much dressing on the vegetables sort of defeats the purpose, so try steamed vegetables if you like the taste better.

Protip: If you want to be good at it, all you need to do is literally the thing you want to be good at. A lot.

I learned everything on my own in less than a year and now am working as a software developer.

It wasnt even that hard. Its been more fun than anything. And I love my job.

**gigabowzer rolled image** As a tip for those entering a major, you need to start somewhere. College isn't a place to finally realize what you want to do. A majority of the time, talents or hobbies will give some sense into what you want to major in or what career you want to enter into.

If you want to major in Computer Science, realize that you should have had some liking towards some of the concepts in your early life(not all the time, but still). Thing is, all majors will be difficult if you haven't done prior research. In a CS college course I am in, there are people who struggle because concepts are foreign to them,. If you have a sense of the concepts before, it will be easier.

However, each case is different. Just realize the difficult that comes will completely new concepts.

start up a portfolio of your programs as you go along and try to get some jobs like geek squad and co-op or intern when you can. that should keep you golden.

It's not necessary, but why the fuck would you major in something you know nothing about? Jesus christ, try it out before you pick your four year life goal to be it.
