Difficult to actually figure out a good plan when you're ignorant and don't have any idea of how to do that. If the people of Zimbabwe actually knew how to farm and shit, the thing in the content wouldn't have happened because they wouldn't have eaten the seeds they were given and tore up irrigation systems for scrap and crap. If decolonization hadn't happened so quickly, I imagine Africa wouldn't be in such a crappy state because mass-ignorance wouldn't be so prevalent.

It's a vicious cycle, really. A lot of the problems in African countries are the result of the ignorance of the people. But it's difficult to solve the ignorance, because the problems that cause it also make it difficult to develop the infrastructure necessary for an adequate educational system. Plus the ignorant don't always see a need for education.

I'd imagine being dominated by colonial powers who only cared about the resources of the colonies, and then decolonization happening way too fast and resulting in the countries (which were just lines drawn on a map with no regard to the people living there and whether they got along or not) being run by people who didn't have the qualifications to run a country.
