No. I could care less if someone just simply stated it, but straight up saying "Dear Atheists, if god isn't real then why the bible?" Is like me saying "Dear Christians, if god is real then why dinosaur fossils?" and I'd instantly start a huge debate over atheism and Christianity, and it would be mostly accepted because Christians are butthurt over an atheist saying that god isn't real, and they'd probably be a lot less civil than I am being, but it's not acceptable for me to debate with someone over them smashing what I believe, and after its been said that they were kidding I apologize?

If you couldn't tell that the original statement was a joke, then you were looking for a fight. I'm a Christian and I don't get mad over someone expressing their different beliefs. It's a part of life. I'm not saying to not debt something, I'm saying you're on a site meant for comedy, and you're taking the comments too seriously.

I'm not for gay married, I'm not atheist, I don't like Obama as a president, but yes, since I say nigger, that makes me a childish, stereotypical FJ user. That makes you a politically correct, opinionated cunt.

Actually because of different state regulations, all you have to do is hire an warehouse in Arizona, register your buisness in Arizona and you can sell automatic weapons nation wide without any background checks.
And no, insane people should not have weapons, BECAUSE he might kill me or his family. He is not of a sound mind. He is not fully responcible for his actions.
And have you ever heard of a word "prevention"?
I'd rather set up background checks and limit weapons for insane people, then have poor sod executed because he shot up a kindergarden full of kids thinking they are all devil spawn.
Since instituting gun control laws Australia has less homicide, less weapon attacks and NO mass murders. Their average was one nearly every year.
And still, law abiding sane Australian can easily get a weapon.

You can own machine guns in Arizona, they are regulated under the National firearms act of 1934. The FOPA made it so no machine guns can be registered after May 1986. To own a machine gun you need to find one, pay for it, fill out the form, pay your $200 tax and wait for ATF approval. Seeing as though they are so expensive to get, the cheapest being I think a MAC 10, at around three thousand. What you're talking about is people being able to go to automatic ranges and shooting them, but again, that cost a good amount of money. In Australia while you can own a gun, you need to get a permit to own a hand gun. That takes 28 days at the least to be sent to you. After you have to give a reason as to why you want to own the gun. Then you must tell that person what guns you plan on using in order to tell what kind of license you will need. More information is needed after that, then you will be required to go to a training center, and need to take a test of sorts. Then you can have your license to own a hand gun. That's too much of a hassle just to own a gun. And it will never be like that in America, simply because we have the NRA. Comparing homicide with Australia who has 22 million citizens, to America, which has a little over 300 million citizens is insane. It can not compared. The insane person who shot up the school did not buy his guns, he got them from his Mother, who didn't have them secure. The guns in my house are in a room, in a gun case, with a lock. The ammo is in another compartment, which is again, locked. It's all about having your guns safe, and secure. If people were safer with their guns, and actually paid attention to their children, their family, or friends, then maybe these shootings wouldn't happen because they could get these people the proper mental care they need.

Its about balance. No gun regulation is as bad as too much gun regulation. Right now its perfectly ok to sell automatic rifles online with no background check.
Now, I don't know about you but I'm uncomfortable with that.
I have a gun. I believe every law abiding, sane citizen should have one.
I don't want my paranoid shyzophrenic neighbour who keeps getting off his meds to have an assault rifle. Guess why.
And yes, I will never be safe. I could get hit by a bus today. That does not mean I will not minimize chance of dying by looking left and right before crossing the road.
We give up freedoms just by living in a society. Our personal rights should only be limited by rights of others around us. I believe my right to live outweights my crazy neighbour's right to own an AK-47.
User avatar #83 - matthewfuckingmain (04/25/2013) [-]
Semi automatic rifles online can be bought and sold with no background check I think, but gun laws in general are different in every state. Automatic weapons can't be bought or owned by anyone, unless you have a license, and it takes I believe a background check plus a few other things to earn that, plus again, I'm sure that's only in a few states. Regarding rather I'm comfortable about that, automatic I'm okay with, because if they legally own it, then they have been licensed, but rather they should need that license is whole different discussion. I'm not worried about anyone owning a gun in general. If you want one, you should have one. What you do with that gun you own is either legal, or not. If it's illegal, you should receive a just punishment. Maybe it would make sense to have a few regulations, but the ones suggested are completely ridiculous. Personal rights are just that, personal rights. They shouldn't be limited. That paranoid schizophrenic neighbor can own what he wants, and if he so happens to attack you. You can then defend yourself. Who is to say he is going to kill you to begin with? You are just guessing what he is going to do. He could attack you, he could kill himself, he could kill his family. He could do a bunch of things. Sounds like he should be in a mental hospital if he is that unstable, or that likely not to take his medications.

This.
My biggest problem with American "Libertarians" is how often they're willing to put a business's rights above an individual's, or a paranoid gun nut's right to own heavy weaponry over his or her neighbor's right to life.
I'm all for rights and freedoms, but we need to look at who's rights and freedoms are more important.
