"Those who don't fight, shouldn't get any of the resulting treasure..." Homestuckxplain said darkly, giving both Yulash and Lulu dark looks. It seemed the orange-wearing horned treasure hunter didn't appreciate the appearance of another orange-being horned treasure eater.

"Stay back, and try to watch what a real professional does before you attempt a cheap knock-off." She continued, waving a dismissing hand at the abomination that was Lulu. Tucking a loose strand of hair behind an orange horn, she sniffed disdainfully, turning away from the Slime Girl.

"Well besides throwing it i probably won't be using it." Yulash said with a shrugs, walking over to matexius and handing him the axe. "Just don't hit me or lulu with it."

''As long as neither of you do something extremely morally wrong, don't worry about that. Anyway thanks. Now all I gotta do is adjust the handle a bit and it'll sit in-hand fine and dandy; the edge could also use a bit of a grindstone-loving, but otherwise it's still sharp as a... well... an axe.''
I say as I start to tinker on the lower part of the handle, as well as the blade.

I've watched both MLP and SU for the sake of seeing everyone getting all horny about the shows, I watched both of each and despised them equally. Some guy on here convinced me that watching 1 episode isn't enough, so I watched like 3 SU episodes and 2 MLP episodes(my little pony is just so obviously childish I really didn't need more to say it's pathetic for adults to watch the shallow show).

Steven universe is just childish to me. The main character is fucking obnoxious beyond anything. The show constantly resorts to really fucking obvious plot twists with equally forced attempts to make me laugh or feel anything. All the jokes made me cringe; and it wouldn't have if it wasn't for the fact that I know adults watch and thoroughly enjoy the show.

The fanbase is already as bad as MLP. I genuinely think so, they're posting random cancer everywhere which are stupid excuses just to post show related content.
User avatar #143 - closotezuka (07/02/2015) [-]
seriously, i've said it once and i'll say it a thousand times

is there anything wrong with being childish?

life's too short to act like an "adult" all the time.
User avatar #144 - commencingfailure (07/02/2015) [-]
You're right it's good to sometimes break with the meta tendencies.

But enjoying those shows thoroughly is pathetic to me personally. I think they're shallow shows and give you nothing to think about. It's like saying "I enjoy playing with Legos" when you're 20 years old. I won't judge for I don't think I have the rights to, but me being that age I feel obliged to intellectually develop myself a bit more. Like, Lego becomes engineering, shallow shows become shows with depth and philosophical background. I personally think watching shows which resolve around nothing but dumb action and EXPLOSIONS AND TITS are pathetic too(unless it's with comical intend).

So yea that's just my vision, I can live with you watching the show. Just don't expect my approval when you ask for it.
User avatar #145 - closotezuka (07/02/2015) [-]
i guess that's fair enough. but it's not completely childish, it's just masked as a childish show. mlp and steven universe are both filled with clever with and in SU's case even controversial themes and interesting morals about life to be learned. people just dismiss it immediately cause "it's childish"

but whatever, i see where you're coming from. just please respect people for watching it and don't call them children.
User avatar #148 - commencingfailure (07/02/2015) [-]
I don't bother with fans of the shows if they don't constantly bring it up. I've got a good friend who watched MLP(even though I ironically convinced him to stop watching it), and for the time he did I never started or even joked about it.

Sure there're some hints towards more adult jokes that children would fail to comprehend in both shows. But alot of shows have been doing that, in fact, almost all children's shows do that. I think there're lessons to be learned from some episodes(which was much stronger in the MLP episodes I watched than Steven universe to be honest), but the lessons are almost entirely aimed for kids to understand.

Still tho, I respect you like I would respect anyone else even when you watch the shows.

Agnaraed just sighs and rolls his eyes "Nah not really besides minor wing abuse".
As I say this i stretch my wing as if working out a kink in my shoulder, while it is extended, blocking the priest's view I hurriedly whisper to the warforged.
"Don't react. That book's dangerous stuff it in my duffel quickly without being seen by clerics."
I then turn so my back is facing him on the bench and hope he complies without making a more obvious scene
User avatar #113 - matexius (06/29/2015) [-]
I reach for a fork and throw it under the table just to make a noise, wait for the Priest to become distracted and quickly reply:

Don't worry I'll be sure to put this when I find relevance.
And here are some of my... thingyes:
1. We are just human, and even Immortals and Gods... get older, while it doesn't show on their outside... they still gosh-damn do.
2. Killing Xenos might be a problem, considering...well...Carnifexs and Nemesors, etc. Though...everything has a weakness. Be it Tyranids, Necrons, Tau,...
Finding the Tyranid Hivemind could be a serious advantage, of course it they have one, something like a huge creature, that controls every Tyranid, if not...capturing and studying a Tyranid might reveal a way to make them destroy themselves.
3. Humans were/will be/are not perfect, Chaos can corrupt us, no matter how righteous our intentions are... Humans are a selfish race, afterall. No matter who leads us, be it The Emperor in his Golden armor or a regular human in a tie.
4. Why can't we all just get along?
I'm gonna put a few pics below, a few might be useful...

Myself, what captured me was the God-Emperor of Mankind. And y'know what, the thing that really got me was the actual humanity of the guy.

He's a dictator, who enforced harsh measures, but he was the most damn honest one mankind's ever had, and he had our best interests truly in heart.
He came up from Central Anatolia, 8000 BC, and for thirty millenia guided mankind - ALL humankind - from the back-scenes until he finally had enough somewhere near M23.
Even the guy's very existence is one of sacrifice. His creation? Tens if not hundreds of thousands of powerful psykers - world leaders, tribal shamans, witch-doctors and great philosophers just to name a few - all of them reincarnated as one into this massive legend of a person.

Honestly speaking, if the Emperor was a real being I would go with him. He simply has the best interests of us as a whole in heart.
User avatar #26 to #25 - matexius (10/23/2013) [-]

Sadly all that sustains him now is ancient tech and pure will power. I have to respect that, even if he is a dictator, but hey...

I understand that
While everyone else looks for the sky and beyond for freedom, I look towards the endless prairies, the deepest abyss and the darkest reaches of the deep sea. While above the surface, the strongest tempest rages, I dive into the seas calm arms. In the deep blue, the world on land is nothing more than a distant memory, fading away.
Word of advice: If you ever go to the deep. NEVER sing the Jaws Theme song.
