I am quite aware how most of it happened, I'm Native myself and grew up on a reservation. I know the good as well as the bad. My point being, that life, short of the warfare (as with most time periods), would have been very comfortable to live. Even if you went hunting and failed to get any game, your neighbors of the tribe would be glad to share.

>Just because the culture was lost doesn't make it shameful or pathetic.
It's not that it was lost, its that it was pathetic and inferior to European culture to begin with.

>And the rise of civilizations and how they're affected by the environment around them and the resources available is an extremely interesting topic to research.

Irregardless of that, the bottom line is Chinese and European culture was far better than Native American, regardless of the excuse for it.

>And the Native Americans were less advanced technologically for reasons similar to that of areas south of the Sahara, Siberia, and the Pacific Islands / Australia. And that's mainly because of Geographic isolation.

Again excuses are irrelevant of my point.

Thank you kind penguin. I was about to learn this fool.
I would also like to point out if we had lived in the ancient Native American culture, all you would do all day, would be hunt, fish, and explore the woods. At night, you sing, dance, eat, and screw all you want.
That doesn't sound shameful and pathetic to me, that sounds fucking amazing.
Other than the internet and vidya games, I wouldn't miss too much of the modern world.

>Thank you kind penguin. I was about to learn this fool.
Learn what? He didn't end up proving me wrong, he just gave a reason why it occurred.

Just because it was harmless, doesn't mean it was wasn't pathetic in nature. Native Americans accomplished absolutely nothing in their long history in the Americas. The Europeans invented, conquered, created solid and complex economic and political structures. They were for human progress, for learning and discovering more. What did the Native Americans do or stand for? They stood for pre-historic way of living like animals do. They accomplished absolutely nothing to the human race which is why they were a pathetic, pre-historic culture of people that were naturally conquered by the greater civilization, and this is how they are and will be remembered.

We tend to romanticize the natives as a peaceful and simple people who were at one with nature, and this isn't true either. They went through famine, disease, war and death just as the Europeans did, and when Europeans arrived they gladly slaughtered each other for guns, trading rights, and territory. That's not to say that they didn't have a unique culture and system of legends and myths. I personally love the Native cultures and find them fascinating to learn about, but they weren't living in a treehuggers utopia, they were human just like the rest of us.

Just because the culture was lost doesn't make it shameful or pathetic.

And the rise of civilizations and how they're affected by the environment around them and the resources available is an extremely interesting topic to research. The Chinese were actually a more successful and powerful group than the Europeans until the 1300s, when firearms were beginning to be perfected, which the Chinese were the first to experiment with. The sole reason that China didn't advance in that regard as fast as Europe was because they didn't domestic animals at the scale that Europeans did, so salt peter, a vital ingredient in powerful gun powder, wasn't readily available to the Chinese while the Europeans had it in abundance.

And the Native Americans were less advanced technologically for reasons similar to that of areas south of the Sahara, Siberia, and the Pacific Islands / Australia. And that's mainly because of Geographic isolation.

What a ridicolous fucking story.

Anyways in my honest opinion being Native American is being a shame, what a pathetic race of people with no accomplishment who were basically wiped out and destroyed by Europeans with no relevant history or culture to leave behind in memory. You should be very happy you're only 1/8th.

The Native Americans were beat through disease and superior technology. The Europeans earlier rise to civilization is more attributed to things like animal husbandry than sheer "racial superiority". The European culture was superior to the natives and so the natives were pushed out like countless others, but it's not attributed to some inherently superior traits that whites have over other races.
