I doubt there will be a need for an election of sorts. There is little to gain from talking about theoretical details like this, but the group of people who wants to improve education would just gather together and figure stuff out.

I like people who updates their beliefs and are open to other views. Its so rare that that one little comment on top of the rest was a little magical moment for me

That requires everyone to be somewhat smart, which is hard to achieve, but would make for a wonderful theorical order if we had a perfect educational system. While democracy is definitely the best and easiest option, it still has the flaw that if some people are stupid, it'll affect everyone else. There will always be people who are just smarter and more brilliant than others, so to fix this, everyone would need the ability to identify those people, so their voices dont get drowned in the common mass

Exactly, unfortunately each person's idea of intelligent is slightly different.

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
― Albert Einstein

We need a group of people who can be unbiased and unable to be corrupted to nominate who should be leading our education reform. From there the people will be allowed to decide for themselves which of the candidates is best.

Aikido/Aikijutsu

Recognised the picture, it's the founder of our art!

On a side note, did you know Ueshiba was a pretty mean bastard in the early part of his life? I mean, a real mean prick, and dangerous. Yet developed Aikido as he got older when he realised it just wasn't as easy to maintain the strength and power. Could go on for ages about this but I'll leave it at that for now.

I bet if someone, like your Mum or best friend got sent to the island you would regret saying this, plus you need someone to make you Mc Donalds, look after your kids, clean your house maybe etc. so stupid people are useful.

It doesn't matter how smart you are. It doesn't matter how skilled you are.
I vote we do none of this stuff you mentioned. Sorry.

Instead, I think we should mate a bigger effort to shape people's attitudes into something more positive. The smartest people in the world could be assholes, but (if we follow the 120+ IQ idea, they'd be the assholes shaping our world. We'd just wind up in a worse situation because these leaders would have an intellectual head-start.

Why not take apart the media that focuses on rich dick-knobs and start teaching people to be more compassionate? Having an actual desire to see people happy and healthy is far more important than having the brains to do the job, because a person with brains and no compassion could easily fuck us all over under the guise that they're 'helping' us.

I agree with the voting fairness though.

Don't be sorry, I want people to disagree with me.
Without differing ideas we can't find the best solution.

You're correct with the "Asshole" thing I thought about that after I posted that comment.
Maybe an occasional vote for who should run things, I'd vote for the Dalai Lama or Neil deGrasse Tyson personally, but that's just me.

Intelligence would be needed but so would a caring, compassionate heart.

You could also take the smart people and have them completely redo the schooling system, and for at least a few generations, push parenting in the right direction should their parents be a major negative influence. If we establish a global society of people who grew up in a perfect schooling system, they will grow out as people able to reason, think for themselves, are curious, and motivated to learn. Once that is in place, it'll be rolling more smoothly, as they grow up and hand down these virtues.

People are shaped by their parents, society and close circle of friends. With total control, you make a kid whoever the fuck you want, negative or bad, with a high success rate.

Intelligence is nurtured, not forced upon people. A ruling elite would do little for everyone else.

I see your point, a ruling elite would not be the way to go.

However if we turned the entire planet into an intelligence based technocracy where each person's say is heard and viewed equally then we could make a brighter future.
No one person or group leads the others.

No we need people to start thinking for themselves. The real problem is the group mentality and the produced group mentality thats there to make everyone feel like everyone else is apart of it. Ruling elites already fucked up the world and are continuing to do so.
