Hmm, just checked it out and there is a law against it. Odd, i thought i remembered seeing people in uniform from time to time.
Then again, that might've been just after there was a march of the forces in our town. Anyway, thanks for enlightening me

I dont know what you're talking about, I'm in the UK and I see soldiers in outfit quite often. Though i do see your point, it seems like that would make you more of a target for someone against armed forces, like that nasty business down in london a few weeks back

What do you mean? it's UK law that any armed forces can't wear his/her uniform in public because of that threat of sleeper Terrorism in the UK

hold on, your soldiers are in danger in their own homeland?
#243 - anon (09/11/2013) [-]
Yeah, they are allowed. In fact, I actually think they're encouraged Kinda to show it off, ya know?
#232 - anon (09/11/2013) [-]
Pretty much all of our branches except our Marine Corps. We have uniforms we can wear, but not camo. And you usually look like a tool if you do
#162 - anon (09/11/2013) [-]
Yes they can, but the usually only do it when coming off of work or going to the airport(early boarding).

They are allowed to wear them, but generally they don't. Most don't like to be in uniform on their days off. They wear them all the time, why wouldn't they wear civilian clothes on their time off?

This soldier was probably off base getting lunch, or may have been a recruiter, or something like that. Or maybe he was off duty and was wearing his uniform for an event or something. Who knows.

If he's on lunch break, yeah. But some of them have been known to wear uniforms in the hopes of getting treated specially on airlines and crap. (drives my dad insane, since he's in the Navy.) This guy doesn't seem like that kind of person though.

He was probably just on a lunch break, but soldiers here usually dress casual when they get the day off.

Both of my parents and grandparents were in the US army,
They can wear their uniforms in public when in America, but it is highly recommended that you either not wear it at all in a foreign country, or they can wear just the pants
and shit man, are they fucking comfy

I see soldiers occasionally wearing their uniforms around, I always say "god bless you" to them because of how much I appreciate what they do for us. I have a lot of family who were in the military and are currently in the military, and lets just say they're strong after coming back from the shit they've seen. Soldiers are the toughest motherfuckers I will ever meet on any given day.

I think the only branch in the US that is not allowed to wear uniform places are the Marines, and that is only for their Digi's. I could be wrong though.
#86 - notified (09/11/2013) [-]
I was in from 2005 to 2011, in the US, military are allowed to wear it whenever we wanted, but anywhere overseas (I was in Germany) it was discouraged.

As far as I know, it's okay for uniforms to go around when not on duty.

I'm not sure how it is for any other branch, but I know that airforce policy is that you can go grab a bite to eat or run a quick errand.

deadmau5, which is pronounced dead mouse, and has mouse heads as part of the image, minnie mouse is a mouse, there fore, if that wasn't an actor being paid to be funny, that would have been a very insensitive shirt to wear at a disney theme park
