Helicopters are more maneuverable than planes, but can't easily do long distance journeys on their own. What's probably happening here is that either an aircraft carrier or an airbase is overseeing an area and they needed to get boots on the ground, but there wasn't anything nearby capable of being used as an airstrip. Attach some humvees to a helicopter, then send a C-130 to serve as a refueling station when they run low part-way there. Easy solution.

is the c-130 not able to just carry the hummers?
i wouldn't know.

It could, but unless you want to wreck millions of dollars of military equipment you would have to actually land the plane first. Can't do that if there's no place to land.

The plane usually needs a landing strip to deploy such cargo. A helicopter can deploy cargo precisely, and quickly and not even land. Also, the CH-53 Super Stallion, which is pictured, is an amazing aircraft, and the only aircraft in the world which I know of that can lift a payload equal to it's own weight.

thats actually a kc135. c130s are not able to fuel. the c130 would maybe be able to carry two of those so its quicker to just fly it over with the helis.

False, that is a C-130. There are many variants of C-130's and there are refueling 130s. A KC-135 looks more like a commercial plane and has a boom. Also a 135 has tubrofan motors not propellers. This is a picture of a KC-135.

I can verify the Zebra suit is still alive. That is Chris Pontius and Steve-O during Wildboyz when they were in Africa.
