Google it or some shit. It's a scientific theory. Objects fall, but is it truly because the Earth has its own pull? It's all theoretical, even if we are 99.9% sure, it's still a theory. We can't prove gravity to be true even though it is the most logical answer, is whatl us calling it a theory is. For all you know, a magical, minuscule, invisible goblin with a super magnet that is specifically designed to hold you to this rock is what gravity is.

God damn. I admit the comment I made was stupid, but holy shit you guys took it too damn seriously.

User avatar #88 - tisjunkisdamnfunny (10/14/2013) [-]
does that mean there is no true frame of reference
#114 - pwnmissilereborn (10/14/2013) [-]
Yes, the frame of reference is completely subjective because the universe doesn't distinguish which objects are stopped and which ones are moving, simply the difference between their velocities, so we choose a point of reference which we deem fix to make it easier to study and comprehend.

I could say that the Earth was completely immobile and the Sun was spinning around it, while every other planet in the Solar System spun around the Sun. It would still be correct because in this case I was using Earth as the point of reference.

We are only taught the model where the Sun is a fix object, which is also correct, because it is simpler and more practical while my example is obviously over complicated.

I thought our galaxy was proven to be moving at an increasing rate away from the origin of the universe, as well as other galaxies.

everything is relative. what yo usay will always be true becuase there is no "true" fixed point in out universe unless we create or imagine it.
