Every time you said green, did you mean third party? I mean, yes, the Green Party is an actual party, but there's more than one third party.

There you go, I just redid my comment and changed green to third.

Yes I just group them into the green party to sum things up. I realize there are quite a few candidates in a third party that aren't necessarily green but it makes my life easier to just say green. Sorry for the confusion.

It would, I just feel open carry would make you more of a target for someone who feels like going on a rampage.

I live in Chicago and I think that a concealed carry is more effective than an open carry. The reason being that an open carry just tells everyone you have a gun, so the murderers and such go for you first. Whereas a concealed carry, you never know who has a gun, so if a murderer goes for one person, he could be shot seconds later by a person who had a concealed gun.

Yea see I thought of that to, but at the same time wouldn't it help to deter crime? knowing that multiple people around you are carrying?

Thank god those hoodlums are confined to dark spaces between buildings
way to stick to the stereotype that muggings can only happen in a dark alleyway.

And if you're needing to grab groceries at night alone? Guess it's your fault you got mugged then. No, it's still the muggers fault. The mugger just wants money, not a murder.

Depending on how well equipped a person is, yes. All they would need is something to cover their face, something obvious that they can dump after the crime ('loud' coat for example), and a -threatening- weapon.

Generally when someone is mugging you they depend on you watching their weapon, not their face or their basic clothing, because that's the really threatening thing that keeps your focus.

Other people won't assist you, for fear of being attacked by the mugger, or drawing his/her attention to them. I've seen a mugging happen in broad daylight. Want to know what I did? Ran the hell away, and called the cops, but by then it was too late. I was unarmed, and knew from looking at the mugger that I couldn't take him, even if I had the element of surprise on him.

"but you guys were obviously too immature to discuss this without thumbing anyone down"

Right... because... That's why I typed up a massive response on a scenario of being mugged in daylight. Clearly giving you a scenario, as well as details about said scenario that you originally offered as a combative question is me just being immature and not wanting to discuss this issue. Thank god we got that all cleared up.

I thumbed you down because I disagree with your statements, because you attacked my country , blamed the victims of muggings, and because you don't have an open mind about foreign country's policies. Sorry I'm the immature one, I guess.

Great so now you blame the victim. Good going there. Honestly though I live in a relatively crime free area of Texas, literally nothing happens here, ever, but plenty of people carry guns with them everywhere because concealed weapons are allowed. The thing is everyone knows that anyone around you could be carrying a gun at any time so it is best not to chance it. I don't know about how it is to live in a high crime city so I couldn't even pretend to know how everyone having guns would affect them. Also don't act like just because I am an American I am brainwashed. I know that the likelihood of me being mugged is pretty damn low, but it doesn't mean I am not cautious, being stupid is how you get killed.

Wait wait wait, it is our fault for being mugged? We shouldn't go places that a mugging can happen because then it will be our fault we are mugged? That is the same as saying that it is a woman's fault she gets raped because she dresses slutty.
