Clannad was shit.

I've gotten that a lot here. It's alright to say it. Clannad just struck a chord with me during a rough time in my life a couple years ago and my decision to put it in the number 1 spot hasn't changed since.

I think the reason i mostly did'nt like it was because of my own high hopes from it. It still was shit, but i exaggerate.

Yeah it is pretty overhyped as fuck with people crying about the feels and stuff. Though it is my favorite, so not so much for me.

Funny thing is I love Clannad not because of the usual reasons people say - I never cried from it. Instead I enjoyed the interactions between family (Tomoya and his dad) and friends.

Only thing i liked about Clannad was the character development of Tomoya's father. Also Tomoya's daughter was cool, seriously hated her mom though.

Tomoya's development with his father is my absolute favorite part about the show. It was actually very similar to what happened with me and my father.

Haha Ushio is amazing.

Nagisa is probably one of the worst girls in the series. (Tomoyo best girl) But I've rewatched the series a couple of times and she's actually starting to grow on me.

I think it's also due to the general ambiguity involved in part of the language, or the subbers just ripping straight from the LN translation on bakatsuki.

True, there tends to be a lot of information lost in translation. Especially when one language doesn't have the word for something in another language.

Could also be that the oceanic crust was removed, and not the continental.
#942146 - lijda (05/15/2014) [-]
Yeah that's one of the reasons why I wonder if its an error where the translator didn't put enough detail into the translation.

It just still wouldn't make sense that lithosphere is the last thing he says because lithosphere really is the exact same thing as the crust plus upper mantle. Just a different way of defining the same thing.

If you really want to get into the science:
Crust and Mantle are chemical definitions of layers of earth. With the crust being of a balsaltic nature (igneous rock) while the mantle is composed more of iron and magnesium. Meanwhile lithosphere is a physical definition for layers of the earth. The lithosphere refers to the solid parts of earth, while the layer below it is liquid.

I think the upper-most solid portion of the mantle may have remained after saying mantle, which is why it didn't all collapse immediately upon saying crust.

Oh wow, if I were to shift every one of my scores up one point we would have pretty damn similar ratings. myanimelist.net/animelist/hey519

Also, full metal panic is another must watch comedy. I see its sitting in your plan to watch list.

Let's not bring up the 2015 massacre. That one was truly one to remember.
