I think I can elaborate for you. The captured men were terrorists and religious extremists. America was rightfully in that country not as an occupational force but as a rapid response force for nearby conflicts or as an auxiliary force for the local government. The captured men assaulted them when the were rightfully in the country. Do you think a man who attacks those doing no harm (which unless else-wise proven i shall hold faith in) is innocent? Now, the response when he "disrespected their religion"... Honestly? These men attacked relatively innocent (they didn't strike first I'm sure) soldiers, do they really deserve paradise? Hell, I applaud the man for insuring they realized they weren't getting in.

Now, I know soldiers aren't angels, but they aren't demons either. I will not mourn the loss of someone who takes lives, but I will thank the man the protects true innocents, my self, and the freedoms of others at the risk of his own life. Note, if soldiers are the hell-spawn you are trying to make them out to be, grab a gun and hide under your bed because I'm damn sure they'd take retribution for you ousting them like this. If you're still alive tomorrow, thank a soldier. Now fuck off.

No, The Americans were here because they were an occupational force. Spain sold us the the Americans due to the Treaty of Paris. As U.S. President McKinley justified the annexation of the Philippines by saying that it was "a gift from the gods" and that since "they were unfit for self-government, ... there was nothing left for us to do but to take them all, and to educate the Filipinos, and uplift and civilize and Christianize them"

Unfit for self-governement? Bull fucking shit, we had our own governing leaders and had rulers such as Lakandula, Datu Lapu-lapu and other kings with the titles Lakan, Rajah and Datu.

Ya'll niggers just wanted the natural resources of our country.

Unfit for self governance my ass. We weren't the paragon of good government, but we had our own at least. I never experienced living in a world under some other country's occupation, but there was never a "nice" occupational force in history. The Philippines was always some other country's bitch. And the shit hit the fan when Spain sold us. America also played the part of colonizer in the early 1900s and had committed their fair share of war atrocities. Shooting Civilians, Getting into drunken gunfights, overly brutal executions of any insurgents captured etc. But hey, war is never pretty. ( I also suspect that it was for resources too tho.)

Although I think the American occupation was a waste of resources and lives, it always did bring some semblance of good western culture, and they still look out for us up to now.

Well, for one this story is fake, it's an urban legend spread through email. View my comment #48, and comment #4.

Plus, you want to explain to me how the United States was rightfully in the Philippines? Mind you, during the Spanish-American War (1998, 3 months about,) which was successfully won by us, Spain under the terms of the Treaty of Paris 1898, would cede the Philippines to our control, (we also grabbed various other pieces of land but that's irrelevant.) The following year, the Philippine-American War broke out (1899-1902) which lasted 3 years, resulting in the Filipino rebellion against the United States was put down, and U.S. occupation of the Philippines continued indefinitely until after WWII.

Simultaneously, the Moro Rebellion broke out the same year the Philippine-American War occurred. The Moro people indigenous people to southern Philippines, who happened to be Muslims, did not want to be occupied by the Americans, this rebellion lasted till 1913.

This is terrorism? Hardly, it was a rebellion against occupation, your words really shows how ignorant you are on the situation. But hey, I guess to you anyone who rebels is a terrorist, right?

No you fucking idiot, The Philippines is not dominantly muslim, we were, in fact pagans, but then traders introduced religion to us, firstly the muslim religion, then Buddhism, and lastly Christianity by the spanish invaders.

The Americans had all rights to be here in the Philippines because of the Treaty of Paris, where Spain sold the Philippines to the Americans. But did we like it? NO, the Americans were a dick to us just as the Spanish were.

Basically, everyone who has entered our borders had been dicks to the Philippines.
