The president has a whole cabinet behind him, giving him info and advising on what to do. Odds are, most of these "stupid" decision were made because they were the most likely to succeed, but when they didnt, he looked "dumb"

Try reading Clintons biography, you really get some insight into how much of a dance on coals it is to be president.

Holy fuck, Invest in some paragraphs.

U.N has it's uses, You can't take one example and say "This is how they act all the time". They make mistakes at times, why? Because they're human..

I don't see the U.N fighting Isis because it's not a INTERNATIONAL incident. It's just a country who wanted to get it's feet wet for weapons of mass destruction that the country never had..

No you don't have any idea of reality.

Sweden has a very good ecomony for their main Export! wanna know what it is? I'll give ya clue, 4 letter word. WOOD! With just they have more money than the U.S, "Success breeds jealousy"

Oh yeah, a strong military. "hey Dan, let's spend 8.6 billion dollars on 160,000,000 new tanks! State of the art!" "K" "Wait how many soldiers do we have?" "Iunno 'bout 36,000,000?" "huh...Hire more tank drivers!"

There's a difference between having a strong military and needing to wave such a military in everyones faces and have the BIGGEST military budget in the world when there's bigger issues to fucking worry about. As i said, There's NO reason for that, I don't care how powerful a country wants to seem, All you're doing is giving yourself a bigger stick. But what's gonna stop other countries from allying to defeat the kid with the bigger stick? Literally nothing.

I can't read anymore, You may as well not have used spacebar. It's like a white blob.

2.it really doesn't, Look at sweden.

3.So? let me know when WW3 starts.

4.oh so the U.N is garbage? And here i thought that shit needed to be debated rather than "AMERICA? SUBMIT! SUBMITTT!"

You may be fucking Cadian, but you're the uneducated fuck and you should stop sucking that American D or you'll give yourself fucking Diabetes. Don't enter a debate about countries when you clearly have no fucking idea wtf you talk about.

actually yes the UN is garbage, do you remember the Rwandan genocide? they stood by and did nothing even though they had "peacekeepers" stationed there, it's unfortunate but true, did you see the UN fighting against ISIS or Boko Haram? no because they're policy of non-intervention doesn't allow them to interfere in domestic affairs even when humanitarian rights are being attacked by those groups. I don't support the US first of all I just recognize the reality of the situation. Sweden also has a very closed economy, they don't depend on others very much which is great! more power to sweden, they have a great buffer against a global economic crisis like the sub-prime crisis, they came out of it relatively ok! I never said the US was the best, I said it's highly influential, not the same thing at all. and yes turkey really is like "US! SUBMIT SUBMIT!" and the people there HATE IT but the west doesn't know much about it because mainstream media doesn't want people to know that it's allies are fascist governments and that student protests are being silenced by the tukish government because their the US government's "closest ally in the east" and a falsely named "democracy".
A strong military does influence other countries, it's the unfortunate reality of the situation, it's the reason why only countries considered close allies to the US have an easier time developing nuclear energy/weapons programs. For example, Iran and Israel, Iran has (allegedly) wanted to develop a nuclear energy program but the US keeps a close eye on them because their relation is shaky and Iran knows that if it came to military conflict they would lose, badly so despite Iran being a sovereign nation, their decision is being influenced by an exterior force. Israel on the other hand, hasn't told anyone if it does or doesn't have nuclear weapons, something it's not supposed to do, there is international legislation that is supposed to force them to tell the truth but we're still not sure. Do you see the US strong arming them into being honest like they do Iran? No, because they're considered an "Ally of the west".
The world be a much better place if we weren't so dependent on getting the green-for-go from the US but sadly that's not how things work. International affairs are extremely complicated, some countries (like sweden) have an easier time staying out of things, others (like canada unfortunately) do not.

You're right, let me reword this maybe... It's frustrating when people just complain about him making stupid decisions (which he has done) without explaining why it's stupid or without suggesting a better alternative. That sound about right?

#159 - skeletorexplains (05/23/2015) [-]
It is quite honestly a really dick move to sit there and go "Without america you wouldn't be anywhere!"

Like..how do we know that? I don't think you change a what if in that situation involving several countries and go "Well if (X) didn't exist, then (Y) and (Z) wouldn't either!" not every war is about america, and as Anon's example, it's a WORLD war at times, several countries get involved, I'm no expert as to the cold war or anything and i've just woken up but from what i remember..not much would have changed if america wasn't here.

Could we have lost a war or two? Quite possibly! But who knows.
#165 - iqequalzero (05/23/2015) [-]
Im not saying we wouldnt be anywhere, im saying that America does influence the world quite heavily, by its very existence. While my comment was clearly joking a bit, the way Russia has been posturing lately would probably be alot worse if they didnt have to think about America.
#98 - anonymous (05/22/2015) [-]
Well i'd say Vikings from north woul've fucked putin and Hitler over in swing if they'd wanted to do so but they are not warmongers so they played the defencive part and america only helped england and france little By sharing supplies and weapons + kept them from advancing in their direction.

1. I'm Canadian, so yea you're misusing the word 'you'
2. The world economy highly depends on the success of the American economy (AKA influenced by)
3. They have the largest military in the world, so naturally other countries are worried about it being used against them (AKA influencing their decision) or other countries/global actors will frequently turn to the US for support when threatened by violent groups, for example, Iraq and Syria have frequently asked the US for more and more support from the US military in leading the battle against ISIS (i.e. influencing the position of other countries in that issue)
4. There are countries in other parts of the world that will do literally whatever the US tells them to do because they require their support in order to keep their regime in power (AKA influencing them). Look at the Turkish government, it's a puppet government completely under the influence of the US government.
All in all, educate yourself on a topic before you start attacking an opinion your too dim to understand
