You know that African nations sell licences to kill older lions to rich people. That 'unjustified killing' of that lion just helped fund the conservation program of the rest of the lions. Selective hunting also helps keep the population strong as it gets rid of older male lions who no longer breed, but are too strong for new breeding lions to take over.

>>#19, you're both correct. I don't know why this didn't occur to me, especially since, having studied in Nepal, I know that similar policies exist for rhinos there. It's an unfortunate policy to have to resort to, but it's the best that can be done considering it's impossible to completely stop poaching.

Well, looks like I fucked up. In all honesty, I had no desire to enlarge those pictures or look closer at them, but that's my mistake and the point still stands; it takes a special kind of asshole to kill a lion for any reason other than self defense, and much more of an asshole to act like it's some kind of epic conquest.

i can guarantee you that the only people that would lose to that are people that are caught off guard. it is not an effective fighting stance or strategy. try going to any fighting style dojo/gym and they will call you stupid. and the ironic thing is that boxing does that when fighting someone with the opposing dominant arm.

Just saying what I was taught. Logic behind it being that you can reach their vulnerable areas, like eyes, faster. Although I suppose in the case of them drawing a weapon or something it would be better to have your non dominant hand forward to protect your dominant.

yea you are not a fighter. while your jabs would be quicker and more powerful they are just jabs. if you are dealing with someone that is able to take hits and bulls their way through your "powerful" jabs then they get a full swing into your face and you are down. your full swing from your off hand wont be much more powerful than the jabs either. the jabs are supposed to make way for your haymaker. thats how boxing works. you disorient and fire your heavy strike into an opening.
User avatar #100 - lapsushominum (03/28/2015) [-]
Ah I see where the misunderstanding may lie. The content was indeed about boxing where the dominant hand is behind for the reasons you know, and I agree. I failed to specify that I was just throwing out information pertaining to non-regulated sorts of fights one might find themselves in.

Ok so TLR is that a girl that goes by TrancyMick made a science fantasy setting about this alien planet inhabited by various species with medieval-Renaissance type technology. Rain Silves is the general of her species' army. That's pretty much it.

What's the deal with sergals, anyway?
User avatar #46 to #45 - lapsushominum ONLINE (02/27/2015) [-]
That was a quick response time. They're aliens, not sure exactly what you mean to ask.
User avatar #47 to #46 - majormayor (02/27/2015) [-]
I'm asking why they're popular.
User avatar #48 to #47 - lapsushominum ONLINE (02/27/2015) [-]
Well I like them (the old style at least) because of their design and setting mostly I suppose. So I imagine most people like them for similar reasons, although apparently a couple years or so ago they went through a popular phase for the sake of being popular.
User avatar #49 to #48 - majormayor (03/02/2015) [-]
I do recall that they came from some sort of fantasy setting. I am not sure what.
User avatar #50 to #49 - lapsushominum ONLINE (03/04/2015) [-]
They were made back in 2004 by this Japanse girl that goes by mick39 as part of a sci-fi setting that takes place on an alien planet inhabited by sergals among other species. That's not the setting she's primarily interested in now, however, which I think is unfortunate, because I preferred them that way.
