Thanks for the response dude, the main influence of this game is Pac-Man and I originally had a gun that would slow down the enemies but it ended up being too easy for the better players and too difficult to grasp for the casual players. Having no weapons or ways to kill the enemies means a larger audience is able to play the game. As for interactions, I did try a few but they ended up spending more time fighting amongst themselves than actually hunting the player.
As for the small map, limits of a mobile device I'm afraid and as for diversity that is my lack of artistry :/. Another motive was Flappy Bird, so simple, no rewards yet people wanted to play it and beat their highscore, costumes were the only reward system while keeping everyone even and letting no one have an advantage due to power ups or upgrades. Also it was designed as a continuous game with no bosses (it was originally) but play testers said they enjoyed trying to get as much treasure as they can without dying so I stuck to that.
I'm really trying to think of better ways to reward the player and want to make the player play the game (and my upcoming games) more and more so any suggestions from you or anyone reading this would be amazing!
