with your experience, what should the punishment of this cop be? I looked it up and he got five days unpaid suspension... basically an at home vacation from what I understand

Had I been the Chief of Police, I would have given him indefinite paid suspension pending the results of an internal investigation (which would have actually happened and been thorough). If the investigation showed misuse of force, or appropriate use of inappropriate levels of force, he would face 6 months of unpaid suspension.

In conclusion, the lead officer was clearly not prepared nor competent enough to hadle this situation properly. He seemed to lack verbal persuasion, which would have likely resolved the situation. He was quick to use force, most notably in red-zones, or areas not legal to strike with a baton i.e. head, knees, elbows, etc. He demonstrates a lack of situational awareness and tactics, as shown by letting the female walk away after being sprayed, and straddling over her while standing erect and drawing his attention to the vehicle and away from the suspect. This is an abuse of police authority, and a good case for conduct unbecoming and police brutality. It would have been different had either of the suspects shown aggression towards an officer, but they didn't. They both seemed to generally comply, although hesitantly.

My source: extensive law-enforcement training and 5 years of law-enforcement experience.

It's either an ACH 2002 or a PASGT. DOn't know why anyone would dip a PASGT though

I was thinking PASGT, but they also have covers. Do the Marines still use them? Army phased them out.

1 out of every 9 FJ users is prior military, US or otherwise. Also, 1 out of 12 statistics are made up on the spot to make a point.
