That's exactly what happened you twat.

My American history knowledge is a bit shaky, but basically the tipping point was after the French-Indian War. The British wanted to keep their troops to defend the colonies and they also prevented further colonial expansion with the Proclamation of 1763. It sounds fine and dandy, but the once free and able colonials were told they couldn't do what they wanted, were now forced a tax because of the British troops who they didn't even want nor needed, plus other things such as the Quartering Act( we hated it so much we even included rules for it in our Constitution ).

Well, the whole revolt was that the colonies were pissed because a country very far away was controlling them. Which also resulted in states because citizens feared that the country was too big. Sorry that I'm not putting it into the best words, I'm tired.
