You know what? I'm making the effort now.

my example > meaning
life expectancy > culture (peace, freedom) + knowledge (medicine, hygiene)
settlements > culture
agriculture > knowledge + technology
flying machines > knowledge (physics) + technology
steel > knowledge (metallurgy) + technology
plastics > knowledge (chemistry) + technology
empire > culture + knowledge

Accomplishments. I am evaluating their society by their accomplishments.
Any reason I shouldn't?

"He did mention laziness, 'dumbness' (I interpreted it as blind acceptance of information) and blinding by religion (see previous)."

As I said, culture.
I'm not saying ours is flawless, great or even just adequate, I'm just questioning that some bronze age nomadic desert tribe's was superior, especially since it's the one coming up with that omniscient, omnipotent father-god nonsense.

You say culture, yet you still back up your previous argument that they were physically less wealthy than we were and didn't have as much nice stuff as we do.

He did not mention technology or knowledge at all in his comment.
He did mention laziness, 'dumbness' (I interpreted it as blind acceptance of information) and blinding by religion (see previous).

If you measure by those standards; we live in a society where we can be spoon-fed whatever the fuck we want. You can even be spoon-fed exercise and a healthy diet if you just don't feel like putting the work in yourself. So there's laziness.

Many people will blindly accept information given to them without questioning it (which there is a fucking large amount of these days) and blind acceptance of religion, of which I used to be a culprit, occurs everywhere.

I assure you, I lurk a very sufficient amount.
However, you're right. As a physical science student, I do have a very one-sided view on what science is.
I apologize.

Science literally means knowledge. Any form of knowledge is science.
