But it is?
The florist thought the guy was getting flowers for his girl, which he was, but instead of saying that they were, he said they were for his friends funeral. Which indeed made the florist feel awkward for assuming they were for a girl.
If you don't understand this after the fact that I explained it to ya, then you're trying too hard to not get the joke here.

Humor from jokes comes from a false assumption and then a commitment to it...
In your interpretation, the one where the reader isn't central, the fool in this joke is the florist because he went out to assume the guy's gotten into a fight with his girl and then commits to the assumption by trying to relatably insinuate to him I don't even fucking know how to English , and the humor ensues when the guy wittily reveals to the florist how the assumption and his commitment to it were wrong, but if you interpret it like I did, where the joke's reader is the primary fool (you know the shit with anti-jokes?)by thinking the same thing as the florist, or something that wouldn't have resulted in awkwardness inside the joke, so you yourself were also in on the false assumption with the word "girl" in the beginning attracting you to it maybe, the shit with the pronouns would puzzle you too a bit. I think this is confirmation bias on both of our behalves in the way that you think the guy lied just to make the florist feel awkward with the text being just a kind of trolling anecdote and I think it's like the guy actually had lost a close one and he just wanted to share a funny occurrence regarding it as a kind of comic relief on facebook, or it's all just a joke... Now that I think of it that's really weird. I guess my interpretation would've made more sense if the joke was told in third person. The "joke". I'm not trying at all, I'm just really this stupid. I've spent ages on this fucking response and I don't even care anymore if it doesn't make sense, I'm going to kill myself. Something is something.

Do you not see that he was trying to get a reaction out of the flower person?
Did you really not catch that?
Who cares if it was really for his girlfriend, he just wanted to make the florist feel awkward.

Well, if I may jump in here..that's ain't so hard. Describe what you like about it.
Going for a latex for example:
You could like the look, how the material feels to touch/wear, the smell, the feeling of nakedness while still wearing something. I think there are numerous ways to describe what can so interesting about it.

Nah, men care about fertility, women care about resources. Everything else is secondary. That's why men buy fancy cars and women wear makeup.

Even though personality is important, personality didn't get women the food they needed to bear and raise children.

Same thing for men. Even though personality is important, personality didn't get men strong children to help them hunt.

You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.

I've seen a lot of unfortunate looking guys pull beautiful girls because he was funny.
User avatar #34 - hyperbomb (06/04/2015) [-]
I would say women are more concerned with personality when it comes to relationships, the longer they're with someone, the less they care about looks. The same can not be said for men. I'm sure both women and men are just as shallow about looks when it comes to a one night stand.
User avatar #37 - ugoboom (06/05/2015) [-]
you're bluepilled as fuck if you still believe that horse shit.
User avatar #35 - admiralen (06/05/2015) [-]
i dare say its the other way around if anything
a man get tired of looks after a while just like women do and thats why a lot of people end up hating married life
a woman usually cares more about the mans position in life
#13 - ygdosst (06/04/2015) [-]
So no woman ever has been attracted to a strong jawline, defined abs, a man's butt, or "The V?"
#88 - anon (06/05/2015) [-]
abs and the V mean's he's in shape so he can protect you/fight off bad stuff, a strong jawline is just a very masculine feature and butts are just cute
