Same. For me, it's a sort of mix between guilt and loneliness.
Guilt because I've never truly suffered... not by most people's standards. I've never been "the hero of my own story". I've never had to be a fighter. And Loneliness because I'm terribly ordinary. If only I had something for others to admire! Something bigger then I could make myself! Something that others would sympathize with, even as I dismissed it with the scarred stump of my arm waving casually before them.
I don't really want to suffer... I want to HAVE suffered before, and turned out better than I was. Am.

I think of it as a form of restlessness.

I had a friend who was like that. He was my classmate. My class had this religious retreat catholic school and lots of my classmates kind of spoke out and opened up to people during it. We were all given a chance to come up to a podium and speak our minds. He went up and told everyone about how he felt after hearing about everyone else's upheavals. He said he felt really boring amoungst us.

He was, but I felt sorry for him. Boring or not, he was still a decent person.

Also, you didn't have to go anon for that. I may not be in your position but I don't think you'll be judged for it. It's not your fault.

For the first three minutes, sure. But then it devolves into fifteen more minutes of pointless crap. All the running and swinging and lava spurts are just there to trick you into thinking it's a fun, exciting struggle, when it's not supposed to be at all. It's the emotional high point of the movie; two old friends, Master and Apprentice, in a desperate, rage fueled fight to the death. It isn't about how cool this exploding planet looks, and as a result, emotion is lost in the visuals

And you think that people who are swinging around weightless plasma cutters, whilst being endowed with the ability to perform supernatural feats of acrobatics and reflexive movements should just bash away at each other like two desperate medieval knights?

I'm still uncertain as to why it can't be both? Watch Thrall vs. Garrosh. That shit was intense and he used a huge Earth hand and a fucking Lightning bolt to the brain. Awesome and Emotional are not mutually exclusive.

It can absolutely be both. The best lightsaber fight in the whole series is Luke vs. Vader on Bespin. The entire movie had been leading up to that point, and the second Luke steps onto Cloud City, the tension builds. Han had just been frozen, everyone's sad, the threat of Vader is paramount. When they start fighting in that carbonite chamber, it's atmospheric as fuck. All the smoke, and the quiet, and then just the silhouette of Vader. That's true intensity brought on by talented film making. And their fight goes from room to room, and they throw shit at each other, Vader's menacing the entire time, it's fantastic. It's fantastic because we care; not because there's loud noises and flashing lights.

Highly polished, sterile, choreographed-to-fuck "fights" are not amazing. They're flashy, pointless spectacles that only entertain children and idiots. It's about the emotion and reason behind the fight, not how pretty the lights are.

No thanks.
I dont want shitty choregraphy from the prequels were they randomly slash at each other or from the OT where they are slow like a snail and smash like retards at each other.

I want my epic space wizards to be the epic space wizards they are.
Aka SWTOR trailers, the only ones that got it right.

Both would be preferable, no? I mean, they're not mutually exclusive concepts. Good story + good action = win. Well choreographed fights are entertaining for a variety of reasons that don't involve idiocy nor infancy, that's a silly thing to say. For instance, I'd rather have my movies packed with action because a good story requires an investment (time) in the product. The story has to be developed and you have to sit through all of that development to fully enjoy it. I can't do that. I need to be doing a few things and cycling rapidly between them. Usually I go with watching Netflix while going back and forth between computer games and piano practice. Flashy combat happens quickly so it doesn't require my full attention at all times. Therefore, I prefer it. Not an idiot, not a child.

You cant genuinely try telling me there was no emotion in some of the fights from the prequels. Did you even watch Revenge of the Sith?
