the word you're looking for is contraction. A compound word is one like cannot, as opposed to can't which is a contraction.

bullshit all guns have a safety, my S&W SW9VE has no safety.
#28 - flnonymousseven (02/16/2014) [-]
many revolvers and pump action shotguns don't.

Glocks...no safeties, but they are guns.
#16 - xxxsonic fanxxx (02/16/2014) [-]
Sorry, but that's wrong.
us.glock.com/technology/safe-action
User avatar #17 - uzimaker (02/16/2014) [-]
Well actually, those safeties would be invalid if you, like the original comment stated, put your finger in and accidentally pulled the trigger.
User avatar #18 - thewizardsage (02/16/2014) [-]
The trigger safety is incorporated into the trigger in the form of a lever and when in the forward position, blocks the trigger from moving rearward. To fire the pistol, the trigger safety and the trigger itself, must be deliberately depressed at the same time. If the trigger safety is not depressed, the trigger will not move rearwards and allow the pistol to fire.

Did you even open the link?
User avatar #19 - uzimaker (02/16/2014) [-]
Yes infact I did. Again, going back to the original comment. He states put your finger in the trigger guard, pull trigger. This action would engage the trigger safety and in doing so allow the pistol to be fired.
User avatar #25 - twofreegerbils (02/16/2014) [-]
Your name: have you built an uzi from a kit?

Also, lol at the guy passing off the redundant glock trigger safety as a real safety.
User avatar #29 - uzimaker (02/16/2014) [-]
No i haven't built an actual Uzi. I just like guns.
#24 - sgtxrootbeer (02/16/2014) [-]
because (no sarcasm) the safety only exists to prevent accidental firing if the weapon is dropped or shaken

50 miles is pretty small on a world map.

im a snownigger so i dont really know how much a mile is but i guess it's like a nautical mile
#48 - flapz (02/09/2014) [-]
Even in DK we are taught that a mile is about 1.6 km
User avatar #72 - lastweek (02/09/2014) [-]
and I was taught that DK is Donkey Kong. Whatever DK is 1.6 km (and that's not even precise) is not a fitting measurement to use if one uses the SI units therefore I selfishly conclude that the English mile should also be changed to be equal to 10 km.
#78 - flapz (02/09/2014) [-]
1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers fitting or not

DK = Denmark
DE = Germany
SE = Sweden
PL = poland
NE = netherlands
S = Spain
and so on

Be cool stay in school
User avatar #79 - lastweek (02/09/2014) [-]
Yeah, but would you not be happy having it be 10km? let's just have old people start going shitballs for a couple of years, eventually people will adapt.
#80 - flapz (02/09/2014) [-]
I rather just have them drop it entirely and have SI units as the universal system for everyone. It's just old measuring units they have a hard time giving up even though they are quite outdated. Still I know because I have to not because I think it's a brilliant system
User avatar #83 - lastweek (02/09/2014) [-]
We should also drop prefix names (kilo, mega, giga etc) and just call it 10^1/3/6 because it's much easier that way.
User avatar #74 - lastweek (02/09/2014) [-]
...be changed to also...*
User avatar #67 - nagafever (02/09/2014) [-]
we might have been taught that in norway but learning about american's retarded ways is something i ignore.
And it's been like 7 years since i took my boat license but i think a nautical mile is 1.6km?
#68 - flapz (02/09/2014) [-]
I don't have a boat license but I know the british use miles aswell
