Heh... I just picked up some stuff here and there. It's a wonder that I managed to remember anything at all with my terrible memory.

It just pisses me off that, whenever it comes to anything war related, people just have to bring up these dark times, not giving a damn about anything else. Hell, we were talking about trading good in history class and somehow ended up talking about Hitler. Again.

It baffles me how people only seem to care about the jews. It wasn't only the jews. They killed frenchies, politicans, silver tongues, war prisoners... everything. Then there were the good guy nazis (some high animals name I forgot) who disobeyed Hitlers orders, didn't kill prisoners, civilians or jews, only shot the enemy because, well, it was war. So either they shoot back or get killed, and in the end he even tried to assassinate hitler.

By the way, Stalin was much worse than Hitler. So was Ghengis Khan during his lifetime, yet nobody seems to give a flying bloody fuck about it.

Do what you want with that information.

Oh no, I'm fully aware of all the groups, races, and other nationalities that were subject to genocide. I was just putting out by far the highest number of deaths of a certain group that was subject to genocide. Granted there were people that were in the regime who weren't as bad as many people portray the Nazis to be, but overall they were part of a group that was responsible for mass murder, and there is no way I can look at them any higher as a group just because there were a few good people in the regime. Same thing with feminism, while I do agree with the message of equality(The Nazis wanting to restore Germany to former glory), I cannot see past their methods as a group with racism and discrimination (The Nazi Party wanting to invade other nations and wanting to kill innocent people). While there are great people in feminism who fight for the right reasons such as the Factual Feminist (Rommel for Nazi Example), I can't look over the general group for this. Just because there were worse people than the Nazis like Stalin, Mao Zedong, and some could argue Pol Pot, doesn't mean that they were any better of people. You're a very intelligent person, you obviously know your shit, and you know more that the average person it seems.

Erwin Rommel was forced to commit suicide, and Ernst Rohm (leader of the SA, and one of Hitler's most important suporters) was assassinated along with most of his officers to ensure they didn't maybe rebel
#273 - munchyman (09/29/2014) [-]
Also Mao Zedong was way worse than Hitler but people don't remember him either.
#274 - greedtheavaricious (09/29/2014) [-]
Care to give me the short version? I don't really feel like digging through endless web pages.
#276 - munchyman (09/29/2014) [-]
What do you mean? sorry i'm kinda tired so do you want to know who Mao was or how he was worse than Hitler?
User avatar #278 - greedtheavaricious (09/29/2014) [-]
Both.
#280 - munchyman (09/29/2014) [-]
oh , Ok Mao Zedong was the first communist chairman in China after WWII. He basically killed 49-78,000,000 in China and Tibet. While Hitler killed approximately 12 millionish and yet people still think Hitler was the worst human being ever.
User avatar #432 - lieutenantderp (09/30/2014) [-]
I hate Mao, but starvation by "accident" and direct murder must be at least a little different.
#283 - greedtheavaricious (09/29/2014) [-]
So... Mao was a major dick.
#311 - munchyman (09/29/2014) [-]
Correct, he basically let his own countrymen who helped him get into power starve in the streets, because why not? He got what he wanted. gif related somewhat.
#238 - kitachiz (09/29/2014) [-]
Might it be Rommel you meant?
#239 - greedtheavaricious (09/29/2014) [-]
Right, the desert fox. Should have known that, being german.

The soldiers were nothing but pawns. Either they play along, or get executed themselves. Rommel wasn't that kinda guy. He sort of fought his own war.
User avatar #449 - foxxywithpaws (09/30/2014) [-]
Heinz Guderian, Otto Carius, Erwin Rommel and my 'favourite' Dolfo Galland.
They were heroes.
#451 - greedtheavaricious (09/30/2014) [-]
Gotta read up on them, then. Thanks, mate!
User avatar #452 - foxxywithpaws (09/30/2014) [-]
Here's a small part from the Dutch wikipedia article, information that's missing from the English article. It's a loose translation.

Dolfo Galland was regarded as a very chivalrous pilot, even by his enemies. When Görring gave the order to kill pilots that were shot down and hanging helplessly from their parachute, Galland refused saying: "I only destroy machines, it is not my intent to kill." Galland's refusal of the order caused many more Luftwaffe pilots to do the same.

From his autobiography:
"I consider myself an athlete playing a game with athletes from other countries. The purpose of the sport is to disable each other's plane. As with auto racing, sometimes fatal accidents occur."
"Politics have never interested me, I did not want to die for Germany or fight for Hitler. I just wanted to be the best. I happen to have been born in Germany, if I was born in England, I'd have fought against the Germans."

He died in 1996 of natural causes. He was given a military funeral attended by American, British and German soldiers. That's how much respect he met.
User avatar #320 - grebllejk (09/29/2014) [-]
Fun Fact. Even though Rommel was part of Operation Valkyrie (the guys who tried to blow up Hitler and take over the government, but only blew his pants off) he was asked to commit suicide instead of being executed, because he was too much of a national hero for Hitler to kill.
User avatar #322 - greedtheavaricious (09/29/2014) [-]
I am aware of that, but others might not be, so thanks for sharing this piece of information.
#364 - fuckyosixtyminutes (09/29/2014) [-]
"Let me interject here that I knew what you said already, but still thank you on behalf of others."

You are an arrogant faggot.
#370 - greedtheavaricious (09/29/2014) [-]
Shit man, no need to be insulting. I didn't even realize it sounded like I'm an arrogant faggot.

grebllejk didn't seem to see it like that either, or he was just too polite to point it out.

Sorry guys.

True but we had Walter Payton who in my opinion was the greatest running back ever.
And he was a fantastic human being too. My dad met him a few times. Said he was just a straight up kind and humble man.
