60% of those 109 million people receiving welfare are able body workers. Some of those people receive more money than some people working minimum wage jobs, but do they deserve it? People who are on welfare need a better reason to work, but socialism would be more benefitial to them than the people who are working those minimum wage jobs making less money than people who are at home sitting on their couch and collecting those checks.

Just because you're receiving government aid does not mean you are not working. According to the U.S. Census Bureau data in 2012, roughly 23% of households with at least one working adult received well-means benefits. For medicaid alone, 28% between the ages of 16 and 64 were working and another 15% worked part time. That's 43% of medicaid recipients. Roughly 60 percent of food stamp recipients who were of working age and weren’t disabled were employed while receiving benefits, according to a Census Bureau sample calculated by the liberal Center for Budget and Policy Priorities. And yeah, I would damn well hope people are receiving more than minimum wage for government assistance, because minimum wage cannot support anyone let alone an entire family. When you're on these programs, it's assumed you do not have a job and you need to support your family or yourself with shelter, food, water, and other necessities until you can find a job. You are literally implying that all people on welfare do not want a job, that they do not work, that they are all lazy, and that's not even close to true.

The number of functionally disabled people who are physically or mentally incapable of work is nowhere near the 35.4% of Americans who receive government subsidies currently. When you do that math, you suddenly realize that 105,682,000 Americans have full time jobs. Of those, 16,685,000 are government workers. That means that 88,997,000 people support the rest. And people like you think we don't do enough. I'll say it again, we don't need you. You need us.

Funny, I don't remember being on government assistance. There's actually over 105 million people working full time in America out of 144 million workers total. There are 109 million people on welfare at it's absolute broadest term. The funny thing is this includes children (Who can't work) and the elderly (who have already worked and retired). But nah, they don't deserve it since they aren't working now right?
