as someone who is an outsider to basketball, I always thought LeBron James was the Micheal Jordon of our era
#51 - johnnybananaz (04/25/2016) [-]
Well what makes Kobe the Michael Jordan of the era was that he came in the league right when MJ was retiring (from the Bulls). They also both played shooting guard and Kobe admittingly modeled his game and completely copied so many moves directly from Jordan. Kobe also had the competitive fire and ruthlessness only rivaled by MJ. Not to mention, Kobe has 5 championships almost equivalent to MJ's 6 rings. LeBron came in the league in 2004 and is a different type of player, more like Jordan combined with Magic Johnson. LeBron has been the best player in the league since about 2010 but he has a different type of approach to the game and plays it differently. LeBron also only has 2 championships in 6 finals appearances, but that really shouldn't take away from his talent. But as of this year and right now, Steph Curry is the best player in the league.

Lebron will be the Michael Jordan of the next era if he stops being stupid and stays with one good team long enough to form a dynasty. Kobe and MJ both stuck with their teams to make it work, now Steph Curry (remember this name) on the other hand... he has the potential to dethrone Lebron and be the new Kobe, who was the new Michael, who was the new Magic Johnson, who was the new Jerry West, who was the new Wilt Chamberlain, who was the new Oscar Roberston, who can't be matched.

Stephen Curry BURIES the DEEP 3Pointer WARRIORS vs CELTICS 412016 201516 SEASON
Steph Curry is the greatest shooter that ever touched a basketball. The record for most three pointers made in a season was 286 set by Curry last season. This season he broke is own record and made 402 threes, thats like uncomprehendible. His ability to stretch the floor is unrivaled. He has the ability to shoot threes from 5-10 feet behind the three point line at all times, its incredible to watch. short video to display his range

being a packers fan just made this cake. Okay so you got Lombardi as your main saint, the guy that can't be touched in terms of how great and amazing he is. That man, is basketball's Oscar Robertson. In Football terms, Oscar would be the guy running 10 more touchdowns a season than all others, and when his critics said "you do that too much" the next season he would only run 5 touchdowns in, but throw 40 just to prove he was more than 2-dimensional.

So right now you have Aaron rodgers who is basically Lebron, everyone knows he good but he keeps getting compared to Michael Jordan.
Michael Jordan is basically Favre, played really well but kept retiring and coming back and retiring and burning out his welcome.
Jerry West would be your version of Bart Starr, just an overall really good fucking player and nice guy.
Steph Curry would be like Russel Wilson I'd say, a nice guy that had good hype when he was drafted, didn't do to well at first but found his own and got a championship by fucking over an older player. Only difference is Curry should win the MVP and NBA championship again this year.

hope that kinda translated well, it's 2 AM where I am

glad it did now you know current NBA drama, depending on this postseason Curry could be king and Lebron on his way out early, apart from that other teams are kinda just doing their own stuff but no one really big is looming

Kobe is a one of the greatest of all time and basically this generations Michael Jordan though. He is one of the most popular athletes in China and Europe as well.
But my bad, I just get frustrated when people don't basic stuff about sports, even though I don't understand more than half the references that are posted on FJ
