Military equipment that becomes useless after few hours of use is totally retarded.
#163 - twentyten (11/26/2015) [-]
Few hours of use? Yeah, but do you expect them to last hundreds of years?
#166 - twentyten (11/26/2015) [-]
I'm sorry, I didn't know these guns went through a nuclear apocalypse as well.

Plus, it's only been a century and the gun doesn't have any electronics or circuitry and less complex. And I doubt it's been used for of it's lifetime. Who knows how often the power has been used. Nit-picking, I know.

These guns weren't built for nuclear apocalypse. These guns weren't built in future.

Fusion cores should be pretty sturdy as they are meant for military operation. I think it was the fusion cores that are ok for centuries, not the suits. Also, there shouldn't be any moving parts in the fusion cores.
#168 - twentyten (11/26/2015) [-]
Not sure how stable the cores are, as some people have pointed out. They could be like batteries for all we know and loses much of it's capacity after so many years. Sturdy or not, doubt the military would make these last that long unless they have a reason to.

"They could be like batteries for all we know" or it could be like the earlier lore told us.

Also, military would want them to last long, resuplying a lot of troops is a big problem.
#186 - twentyten (11/27/2015) [-]
Don't think you understand what I mean by lasting long. I'm talking about the lifetime of these things. They could supposedly provide enough power to run the armor for a hundred years, but that doesn't mean the fusion core itself will last that long. I don't see anything about the lore and how durable the fusion cores are, unless you found something?

It's literally part of the lore that power armor has shit loads of power so you never have to constantly manage it
#81 - anon (11/26/2015) [-]
They never mentioned how stable the cores were or if they deteriorated over time.
Also, if you got to be in it forever people would bitch it was op, bethesda can't fucking win.
#83 - ashendashin (11/26/2015) [-]
I think that when it's said that a source of power will last a long ass time, I think they mean it's going to last a long as time. Sure it might get screwy from being exposed to the elements but most of that shit is in containers and the ones in generators are inside buildings. Bethesda could've simply made power armor a bitch to keep and maintain what with all the explosives, deathclaws, and other very much armed dangers of the waste. Also fusion cores are goddamn everywhere
