it just doesn't have a lot of games because it's too pricey to develop for or some shit like that, which mean it doesn't sell well. anything that doesn't sell well gets branded as a bad product regardless of whether that's true or not

Basically, you're going to need a chainsaw housing that can comfortably accommodate your fist inside. Gutting the engine/motor should be easy enough, provided you don't care if you can put it back together. I'd advise checking garage sales, curbsides or local dumpsters for a cheap option that nobody will miss. Upon emptying the housing, screw or rivet a handle onto the inside, as to wield this monstrosity with a modicum of control. Then, you'll need to affix a cuff to cover your wrist that your hand can still slide in and out of, for bonus points, use a hinged fitting that can snap into place around your wrist, effectively locking the chainsaw in place until you unlatch it. Then comes the tricky part: the blade. You have a few options here. 1) you could attach an actual chainsaw blade and counterweight the housing for more balance. This will be heavy as shit, but also more realistic, and odds are you already have one from finding the housing. 2)you could look for a plastic or foam toy chainsaw, and glue the blade into place. This will be difficult to find, as Ash has a fairly lengthy blade and most toys have less than a foot of reach. But it will be very lightweight, and easy to explain to police officers. 3)you could cast an aluminum replica, ask me for details if this one intrigues you. This will be one of the more labour intensive options, but it'll be light and look legit. After you've gotten through all this bullshit, you'll be ready to paint it. Here's a reference image to get you started. For bonus points, put an S-Mart logo over the original brand name. For fake blood, mix corn syrup with red food colouring, and a few drops of green to darken it appropriately. Warm it up unti it thins the mixture, then dribble as needed along the blade. This will have the added benefit of congealing realistically and actually attracting flies. Or, if the bugs aren't your style, mix some red-brown paint with a few pinches of dirt and apply for a chunky old blood look. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask!

why does ash look so old in that picture? and holy shit dude, you're very creative with costumes

It's a screenshot from Ash vs The Evil Dead, which is the televised continuation of the Sam Raimi classics on Starz. So that's what Campbell looks like now, and I'd say he's aged pretty well, all things considered. As for the costumes thing, thank you very much. I've done some amateur Shakespearean and a couple of original plays, but I've never worked in wardrobe. I'm just a contractor by trade, and I'm good at jury-rigging stuff.

wait, so it's a show now? how long has that been going on? That's pretty cool though, i bet you kill it at halloween. I'm better at acting as whatever I'm dressed up as, i suck at making costumes from scratch

It's in it's second season, it's pretty good actually. Link to trailer: youtu.be/LdRyAVsWVJ0 .
I made a Jason Voorhees costume last year (I'm a big guy). It was apparently good enough that the kids that came around got their parents to come collect the candy from me because they didn't want to stand on my deck with me looming over them.

That's fucking awesome dude, you must have a lot of fun on halloween

I find the trick is to ignore what you'd like to have, and focus on what you've got. I had a grody looking oilskin coat, an old flanel shirt and some stained welding gloves. The idea clicked, and I was able to pick up a goalie mask and a foam machete at a local costume shop. The mask was glow-in-the-dark, so I painted the shit out of it and gave it a dirt bath before I clear-coated it. All in all, I had a fairly screen-accurate Jason costume for about 20 bucks. It was a good Halloween.

wow, i can really only make a zombie costume with ripped clothes and blood or a soldier, which is really uncreative because I am one. though i can usually give my little brother a cool facepaint

Cowboy/Lone Ranger's a common one for when I couldn't think of a better costume, as I own three "cowboy" hats and a set of boots. I'd love to do Jonah Hex some time, but I need a decent set of facial prosthetics for that.
#68 - jacksipian (08/23/2016) [-]
Yeah, cowboys aren't too complicated, but yeah you would need some stuff to pull off Jonah's face

Neither do I. That said, I'm kind of surprised that you know who Jonah Hex is. The comic's kinda obscure, and the movie's best left forgotten to most people.

Gotcha. I first heard of him from an episode of the Justice League animated series.

oh alright, i was never too big on the justice league series, they didn't give aquaman enough credit
User avatar
#75 - batmanuel (08/23/2016) [-]
About as much credit as he's likely to ever get. He wasn't there much, but he was cool when he was there. Did you see the episode when they fought the Ultimen?
User avatar
#77 - jacksipian (08/23/2016) [-]
No i dont think so, does he get some screen time in there? and yeah i know they didn't have him much but i think he's one of the stronger heroes there

#84 - jacksipian (08/23/2016) [-]
Nice, lol i like Aquaman's bitchslap in there. but why would they fight Aquaman in the water? why did they think that would end well?
User avatar
#60 - jacksipian (08/23/2016) [-]
also, the show looks awesome, I'm definitely gonna check that out now
User avatar
#85 - batmanuel (08/23/2016) [-]
Well, they're the wonder twins. All Zaan can do is change into water, so it was either mildly inconvenience Aquaman and get fucked later, or just get fucked without putting up a fight.
User avatar
#86 - jacksipian (08/23/2016) [-]
No i mean like, the wonder twins should've fought someone else, they chose the wrong dude to fight with their powers, but whatever, Aquaman beat someone up, and that's always good
User avatar
#87 - batmanuel (08/23/2016) [-]
Absolutely. But the idea is that the Ultimen are basically a bunch of uppity teens who think they can take anyone. It's a good episode with a twist ending, I believe the series is still on Netflix.

#90 - jacksipian (08/23/2016) [-]
Lol, that's one way to put them in their place, they try to destroy the justice league and get swatted down
