all art has a story, i enjoy visually pleasing art because i like to fantasize that i am a writer so i can take a piece of art and attempt to give it a story. with this though... it's pretty cut and dry, they hung it in the dead sea, it became very salty, the end. sure it has a history, but as honestly it is not s story that i find interesting. then again real world art is harder to write a story for, drawings of fantasy are usually more inspiring for me. science fiction is also nice.

the circle jerk is more about how "modern art" has become little more than...well literal trash. like when you throw a few crumpled up pieces of paper and some plastic cups on the floor and say its some kind of metaphor, or you paint a single rectangle and suddenly its a complex analysis of the current geopolitical power structure.

Well hey, to each his own. In my eyes this is just meh, but in someone elses eyes it's fantastic. Just because I think it's bad, doesn't make it ''bad'' art to everyone. Cheers for the info behind it thou

The project is an eight-part photo series called Salt Bride and was inspired by S. Ansky’s 1916 play titled Dybbuk. The play is about a young Hasidic woman who becomes possessed by the spirit of her dead lover, and Landau’s salt-encrusted gown is a replica of the one worn in the dramatic production of the 1920s. Art is more than just visual in most cases, its important to understand this. I bring this up because theres a circlejerk I see on this site and on most of the internet anyways shitting on art that isnt a painting of a spaceship or a dragon or something thats purely visually pleaseing. Please understand, I mean no disrespect to your own sensibilities
