...What?

The 'came back raging' was a hypothetical, in quotes, asking if you'd rather me have said that than wish you a good night. I didn't call you a judgemental cunt, I asked if that's what you would rather me do, since apparently there's something wrong with wishing you a good night.

I was telling you good night because it was 1 in the morning and I was going to bed. This is the internet, we could obviously continue the conversation the following day. The only thing I said to 'end the conversation' was 'we'll have to agree to disagree.' Which isn't much different from 'I don't feel like engaging in this conversation anymore.'

Yes, you are clearly looking for reasons to hate people. You've thoroughly convinced me that you will invent something aggressive out of anything that I say, and it's really sad that you don't realize you're doing it, because you're probably missing out on a lot of potentially friendly interactions due to your cynicism.

So, yes, I don't feel like engaging in this conversation anymore, because you're just looking for a reason to dislike everything I say. I sincerely hope that you one day stop trying to find bad in everybody, but I'm obviously not the person that will make you see that, so I will leave you be.

...What?

Okay. Would you prefer 'God damn you're a stubborn judgemental cunt, I'm not wasting my time on you anymore?'

When it gets to the point when you think someone's being 'officious' because they're going to bed and they tell you goodnight, you really are just looking for reasons to hate everyone, man. I don't know what made you so cynical, but not everyone in the world is trying to be an ass to you. So, yeah, I really *won't* be continuing this conversation with you if that's how you're going to act when I try to say goodnight.

I don't think you realize what you just said here. Telling someone "have a good night" in such a snide manner where you're literally cutting off any further conversation in a completely backhanded way is completely officious because the sarcasm is very clear, and makes you look like a passive-aggressive, condescending prick, whether or not you're trying to. You know what you can say? "In any case, I don't feel like engaging in this conversation any more". That's it. It's to the point, it's honest, it cuts it short and it's not backhanded or condescending in the slightest.

And don't be giving me that "just looking for reasons to hate." I was completely civil in disagreeing with you. I have no reason to assume any of that until you come back raging like "god damn you're a stubborn cunt".

In any case, I do not really feel like engaging in this conversation any more either, because frankly it's not going to get any better from this point on and I don't see any more point to it either.

What part of not deleting a comment is "brave"? It just means I don't care about my thumbs on this site.

I was going to ask if your name was a spin off of eridium from Borderlands, then I read your comments and now I'm kinda disappointed. Also, I live in San Jose too.

Haven't played that game in forever, still have the first one in my collection. But nope. And I get all sorts of other ideas, like someone mentioned a Death Metal song. I was just into chemistry when I was little and the name sort of stuck.

Also, cool. What part of SJ?

what is iridium used for
tell me please
User avatar #5 to #4 - iridium (11/05/2013) [-]
Well, it's a verrrrry rare earth metal. In fact so rare, that most of it is impossibly deep underground (hypothesized to have sunk underneath the surface when the earth was still covered in molten material), although it is more abundant in meteorites. Because of its density, corrosion resistance, high durability from wear and high heat capacity it can be used for a good number of things en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iridium#Applications here's some examples . However, due to its rarity (it's 40 times rarer than gold), it's often either used in extremely small amounts with compounds or its used with very expensive machines. A very small amount of iridium (along with osmium) is used for compass bearings. There are also iridium crucibles which work extremely well in high heat.

i thought gold wasnt supposed to be rare, just very useful?
User avatar #7 to #6 - iridium (11/05/2013) [-]
Gold's not really that useful for all that many scientific things actually, partly because it's naturally brittle. It's just really ****** shiny and glistens. That said, it really isn't bad either. Seriously, you can eat gold leaf and it's pretty non toxic, though the only reason why I think anyone would do that would be to say "look at me I got so much expendible income I can afford to **** gold!"
User avatar #9 to #7 - adplum (11/05/2013) [-]
yeah, i know about that. They put it on really expensive ice cream at restaurants near my house, and isnt gold supposed to be worth a lot because of how malleable and unaffected by chemicals it is?
User avatar #8 to #7 - iridium (11/05/2013) [-]
That said, it is highly conductive and has some medical uses as well. And it can be stretched thin and it deflects ice and radition well, so it can be used for that. The vast majority of gold sales however is for jewelry.

oh, yeah i can see that.

Usually I just delete comments because I change my mind about wanting them to be there.

It's not about thumbs either.
