I'm going to step in here cause I am pro choice. Let's cover one thing, life is sacred to some. Others, like myself, realize that there are things out there worse than death, or even not living as the case may be. Ainise's comment illustrates many of these things, seriously which is crueler not living, or living every day scared stiff at what may come tomorrow?

I see your point and often have back-and-forth conversations with myself over which I value more in society, individual responsibility or the relief of potential suffering for those who would have otherwise not lived. Its a debate I still haven't settled in myself.

Try taking a step back. Yes you have suffering children, what happens to those suffering children? Well, a scarce few come around to be surprisingly well adjusted adults (if a little scarred) but then you have those that go on to have children and repeat the cycle. You also have the desperate who resort to crime. There exist may similar cases and none of them are any more pleasant. To me it makes sense to have pro-choice so that those who would be poor parents can avoid a responsibility they are not ready for and increases the chance that those who do keep their younglings will take good care of them.

You will never eliminate the class of people who do not care for or provide for their infants. Nor will you eliminate the class who resort to crime. This includes abroad and not just within a developed country. Therefore abortion only makes it easier for society to degrade its personal responsibility.

This is just my prevailing thought pattern at the moment. It may change or it may not, who knows.

Well all evidence shows that when quality of living goes up crime across the board goes down.

It's not a matter of elimination. It's a matter of reduction. Considering all the adoption agencies responsibility still gonna degrade just as much. Even if you carry the child to term you don't have to keep it. That damage is done and gone, but you can decrease the desperate, the tortured, and the suffering by removing them before they have the consciousness to understand what death is.

I didn't justify abortion. I'm trying to make a point that there's more important things to fight against. Things that we CAN actually stop. Things that DO matter.

I also don't find every life sacred or any bull shit like that. Even cockroaches have kids and I don't think anyone's advocating to save the pregnant cockroaches.

All I'm saying it isn't the best recreational activity, and it is illegal, but I guess I have to fucking smoke the forest to understand it.

If you have even the most basic understanding of US history, you'd find that the situation in the United States with cannabis at the moment almost perfectly mirrors that of Prohibition after the 18th Amendment. It will be legal soon, and it will gradually become accepted again, just as alcohol did. It is not the best recreational activity (what is?) but it certainly is enjoyable.

I have, they are the same fucking people wearing Bob Marley T-shirts and would defend marijuana more than their mother.

and yet there are those who quietly consume it and get on with their lives and work.

Look, I doubt you have ever even handled it let alone smoked it and thus your opinion on the matter is really null. That and your blanket generalization is a glaring flaw in your argumentative approach that anyone will tell you is incorrect.

If the only people you come into contact with are people who wear Bob Marley shirts and defend pot more than their own mothers, you should probably rethink your choice of acquaintances.
