Proven wrong by two different people below, but you won't change your mind. This is a stupidity to trump all others: confirmation bias. You're a bigot and want to look for an excuse.

If the Prophet had been alive today, he would have been the leader of ISIS.
Muhammad was a warmonger and barbaric fighter who killed pagans and anyone who he saw as a heretic.
" Muhammad delivered Quranic verses permitting Muslims to fight the Meccans (see sura Al-Hajj, Quran 22:39–40). These attacks allowed the migrants to acquire wealth, power and prestige while working towards the ultimate goal of conquering Mecca."
"List of battles of Muhammad

"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them."
Doesn't sound like something ISIS would agree with.

I just cited sources that say he killed infidels I never mentioned christians.
You miss my point.
Islam claims to be the final revelation, so they see christianity as the revelation that came before and not totally wrong that is why he considered them somewhat friendly.
But the pagans of mecca, he wished to exterminate..

"A dhimmī (Arabic: ذمي ḏimmī, IPA: [ˈðɪmmiː], collectively أهل الذمة ahl al-ḏimmah/dhimmah "the people of the dhimma") is a historical term referring to non-Muslim citizens of an Islamic state. The word literally means "protected person." According to scholars, dhimmis had their rights fully protected in their communities, but as citizens in the Islamic state, had certain restrictions, and it was obligatory on them to pay the jizya tax. "
He didn't love them, he wanted to extort them for money.
#80 - didactus (17 hours ago) [-]
You gave no source.
That wasn't open love, it was a statement of protection.
And it is known that islamic societies have given citizenship and protection to other religious minorities in exchange for ridiculous taxes, and if you didn't pay them, you paid a new tax called "the head tax" They cut your fucking head off.
Again, I didn't say christians. I SAID INFIDELS.
Stop using a red herring.
#97 - didactus (10 hours ago) [-]
I'm not clutching at straws, because you ignored half of my point, yes he didn't kill them but that's because he could make money off of them, if they didn't pay extra taxes they would've lost their heads, that's extortion. They were no more than a source of income to feed his warmachine.

Still, even if that was true, even if he hated Christians living in Muslim countries (he didn't), he had no problem with Christians who didn't live in Muslim countries and had a problem with any one of his followers who did, going so far as to call them heretics if they molested Christian monks.
ISIS hate Christians in general, hence why they want to invade America and take over the White House. Hence why they want to take over Rome.
Also, do you know WHY Muhammad attacked Mecca? Because him and his followers were citizens of Mecca who were abused, tortured and cast into exile.

It was decreed by muhammad and his descendants that a caliphate was to be created.
This is the same caliphate that ISIS is now trying to create.
"Furthermore, in the lands that would be conquered by Muslims many Christians (Nestorians, Monophysites, Jacobites and Copts) were disaffected from the Christian Orthodoxy which deemed them heretics. Within a decade Muslims conquered Mesopotamia, Byzantine Syria, Byzantine Egypt, large parts of Persia, and established the Rashidun Caliphate."
This sort of would fly against what you are saying.

Muhammad calling people who molest Christians monks heretics: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achtiname_of_Muhammad

Yes, Muhammad and ISIS both want to create a caliphate, but that's not ISIS's only goal.

"He made money off them because they were living in a Muslim country and not abiding by Muslim law. "
That's still oppression.
"When the Jews of Khaybar surrendered to Muhammad after a siege, Muhammad allowed them to remain in Khaybar in return for handing over to the Muslims one half their annual produce" What do you think would have happened if they had not given that up? Be honest.
#108 - didactus (10 hours ago) [-]
"Are you really trying to claim that living in a country and being exempt from some of its laws is oppression? If anything, it's the opposite"
So you're in favor of an oppressive theocracy favoring religions? The laws in themselves are oppressive and you're playing it off as if it's ok to have a theocracy.
Theocracy is the worst form of government, combining the worst elements of fascism dictatorship and religion. Also, the succession of muhammad to the establishment of the caliphate is what caused the schism of Sunni and Shia Islam and is why they have such a passionate hatred of eachother. They are taught from birth on both sides that the other side isn't really Islam.
#113 - anonymoose (10 hours ago) [-]
I avoided that question because it was an attempt to derail the conversation. We're discussing whether Muhammad hated Christians or not. The state of the governments he erected is absolutely irrelevant.
Please explain how being exempt from laws for a fee is oppressive? If they allowed people to be exempt from laws for free, that would just dissolve the law entirely.
#116 - didactus (10 hours ago) [-]
If the law itself is unjust and made so that it in itself is extortive to non-muslims it is bad, plain and simple. The state is not irrelevant because the actions and politics of his government reflect his beliefs.
And I never said he had an intense hatred, I simply pointed out he saw them as lesser beings than muslims.
#30 - thesovereigngrave (04/17/2015) [-]
There are Muslim leaders speaking out against the fanaticism and terrorism. Your analogy isn't entirely accurate because Catholics and most Christians have a Church, a hierarchical structure of some sort. There's no Muslim church; hell, they technically don't even have a clergy. The closest you have are simply Muslim scholars who have studied the Qur'an and are recognized as being learned in their religion. So there is no central authority to denounce these people, since there's no Caliph.
