Actually they arent "making it for the deadpool fans". Because that would be less than 1% of the audience. They are just making the best movie they can. Kingsman was a comedy/action rated R and it did plenty well, and not because of making a movie to the fans of source material. If all 46,104 people who bought a Deadpool comic in February (real figures) went and saw this movie, it would make a whopping $553,248. So no, they making this for Deadpool fans. Can the writers, director, and actors want to please them? Sure, but the general audience is far more important.

uhh not so fast, I defiantly judge fat people in the gym. They totally kill my vibe. While im trying to pump a sweat I see some one struggling with light weights and giving up quickly. It makes me feel weaker just looking at it.

However i did see this one guy there who spent 100% of his time on the tread mill with no breaks every day who waved and smiled at me very day when I came in. Now that guy kicked ass I have no problem with him. (he was trying to lose a lot of weight)

This. Unfortunately (at least I know this is the case with me), a lot of people still carry the stigma they had from going to P.E. in grade school and getting constantly picked on because you're not a fucking Adonis. In fact, even if you were, you'd probably still get made fun of for being a muscle freak or whatever. Kids will find any reason to make others feel like shit. Just pile it onto the reasons the school system in the US is fucked.
I still see a gym and think that when going in, everyone there will be judging me and just finding my presence there a burden. It's a horrible feeling, and something that needs to be conquered.
#120 - anonymous (04/01/2015) [-]
I'm willing to bet you're right 80% of the time, but saying "There's NO way!" is absurd.
User avatar #112 - galaxiegal (04/01/2015) [-]
Yeah, I mean I get feeling embarrassed for being fat and knowing you should have been doing this for a long time, but I also know that people are more likely to think "good for her" than making fun of me.
User avatar #110 - incognitoad (04/01/2015) [-]
While I've never actually been to a gym, I don't think this is true 100% of the time. And if/when someone does make fun of anyone at the gym and the person being insulted is bothered by it they either have to leave the gym, thus failing to complete what they set out to do, or sit through the insults while they get on with training. My point is that they can't get away from the bully in an enclosed space.
#102 - anonymous (04/01/2015) [-]
I strongly believe that you are mistaking. It's hard to get self-esteem, or self respect for young people in any case, and if you have some body disfunction it will be really hard to get on track. Remember that starting something is always the hardest and its not just laziness that counts.

I mean. Piss off with your shitty attitude and get some original opinions Hitler.

Or don't evengo to the gym. My mechanical engineering degree has been getting really time consuming so I just do what I can at home. Maybe I won't get Schwarzenegger status that way, but it's something.
User avatar #142 - takesomemorewater (04/01/2015) [-]
That wasn't what I was saying with that quote either. I can understand if things get time consuming, I'm at that point myself with my final exam assignment, but when I get stressed from that, at least half an hour in the gym makes me feel a bit more liberated from the stress. I'm not saying people should fucking attain Schwarzenegger status, that's not what I wanna go for either...I just go to the fitness center to relieve myself from stress and stupid shit, I guess, and to burn some of my fat.

Anonymous, I didn't mean that in a hostile way, that's not me...dunno if that's why you gave me a red.
User avatar #146 - nigeltheoutlaw (04/01/2015) [-]
Well, my workouts are significantly longer than that and it takes 20 to 30 minutes one way to get to the uni gym from my house, which is why I opt for the stay at home workout. It is nice to relieve some of the stress.

Its not an excuse just because it doesnt happen at you gym, or area. It all depends on where you live. There are places where they laugh at people all the time, even though they once were thick or slim and didnt even know how to lift yes . Though in the past few years its become dramatically less. i was slim myself (still am a litle, atleast i think i am XD), but i dealt with it, its your body and future, give it all you´ve got.

I'm a quite heavy guy who got back into going to the gym just under a month ago (6'3", 327 lbs, now down to 314 lbs). Since I've been back, and when I went to another gym a couple years ago, I have never had anyone make fun of me (that I know of), and I'm sure it's less widespread than people think, but I'm sure it does happen occasionally. Some people are just douchebags like that. And the problem is, for a lot of fat people taking the first steps towards healthiness, all it might take is one comment from one asshole to entirely discourage them.
#74 - anonymous (04/01/2015) [-]
how long did it take to lose that?
I have never been fat, but I started getting amazing results after I completely reshaped my diet and dropped a lot of snacks and alcohol.
I always lifted moderately heavy and was getting stronger (I can relatively easily bench 100kg after some warmup or curl 25 kg db), but not much more muscular.

Food sources and eating patterns are the most important thing at the end.
#148 - exsequor (04/02/2015) [-]
I started going to the gym sometime around the end of the first week of March. When you're as heavy as I am, it really doesn't take much effort to lose weight at the beginning. I could slowly lose weight just by dieting without even working out if I wanted to. I actually just set up my first planned workout schedule today, I'd been going to the gym 4-5 times a week, doing cardio and sometimes some light/moderate lifting (for my size, for a smaller person it could seem kind of heavy, but I've got a good bit of natural strength). My plan now is 6 days a week, cardio on 4 and lifting on 5 (no cardio the day after leg day). My roommate is an experienced lifter, which is helpful for guidance.

My diet doesn't involve any set plan. Breakfast is usually a weight watchers cereal, lunch and dinner are some combination of fish, chicken, lean red meat, whole grain pasta, fruit, or veggies. Snacks are usually celery with peanut butter, carrots with hummus, or whole, unsalted almonds. I've also been drinking a lot of black coffee, which is both very low in calories and works as an appetite suppressant.

It's been around 4 weeks to drop what I have, I'm hoping to be under 300 by the end of April.

If you bothered to read all of this, good for you haha. I'm always open to any suggestions as to what specifically helped other people as well.
User avatar #43 - forbesydemon (04/01/2015) [-]
Thing is though, there are assholes everywhere. There seems to be a whole lot less judgemental ones in the gym, but seeing as it's a place they'd expect judgement the overwieght people become hyper alert or hypersensitive to it. They'd probably receive ten times more judgemental looks or comments just walking down the street but won't notice as they aren't looking out for it like they would be in the gym. When I was losing weight I found people actually smiled at me more or were more positive towards me in the gym. Most of the people there had probably been in my shoes at some stage and know that I'm trying my best. And now I do the same to others who I see come into my gym for the first time. I smile and give them small encouragements and it warms my heart to see them each day they come back.

I'm self-conscious, so I haven't been to the gym in a long time. I used to go with a friend, but we've not been in contact with each other as of late.

Find someone to go with, or start lifting at home. You don't have to go to the gym to get fit

I barely had the money to go to the rec center. I don't have nearly enough money to buy weights to lift at home.

Completely agree, whenever overweight people are at my gym I always think highly of them, I wouldn't know how they got to be the way they are but at least they are trying to fix it.
