When you are creating a series based on an MMO you can't "reference" stats (or at least you shouldn't).
Those and the skills are the base of your whole character and define what you're good at, you can't just ignore them when creating combat enviroments in the RPG scenario.

I took a look at your links.
Look, at, the, length, of, that, fucking, thing.

They almost NEVER mentioned or took into account the effect of any of these stats besides random stuff like "Kirito is an expert duelist but can't fish for shit".

Same goes for the skills, I don't remember any ability at all that had any important or defining characteristic, or changed depending on the character class (Ex: Tank, DPS), they just shine and swing their weapons around, and somehow they are more powerfull than basic swing.
Abilites are suposed to be circumstancial, have a strategic value on battle and/or a specific function, in SAO they follow none of these rules, they just deal dmg, faster or slower.

Both stats and sword skills have a lot of theoretical utility and explanation. On the wiki. On the series none is shown or explained. (The initial explanation doesn't count, since is a really basic explanation of the concept, which is later ignored).

About the clothes. True, you can upgrade your current equipment, but a vital part of any RPG is to find better gear and weapons. He basically spends the whole series with the same sword (adding one for dualwielding) and the same dark suit. Same goes for all the other characters. There's no feel of progress at any moment whatsoever.

P.D.: I like games, a lot, and I find it really disappointing when content creators take onto the gaming genre just because it's popular or might attract more public, (which as you know it did with SAO), while having no idea what the game they are making content from is actually about or completly ignoring it's defining characterisitics.

Right now I'm in the middle of a show that seems to recreate a society inside a RPGMMO universe. Log Horizon. Not saying it's better, but acknowledges it's a videogame after all, and uses it on it's plot.

i too love log horizon and i have watched both. Log horizon and SAO while have similar settings in they are trapped in an MMO. they are. at their plots. about different things all together

Log horizon delves more into stats and abilities because they are showing contrast. while at the same time showing that it's a living breathing world as well as a game and how the world is evolving to become more "real" like flavor texts coming to life and the Half-gaia project turning full-scale

i said disciple not force, and you have to punish the dog if he does something bad or else he belives he can do what he wants, i was raised raising dogs like dobermanns and rottweilers and those tipes of dogs require you to be strict. never had an incident with them either.

Congrats. i have a rotty and a pitty of my own, i love bully breeds. but there's more to genetics and how they're raised rather than "discipline" you sound like Cesar Millan and that man needs to be arrested and to never even see another dog in his life

well he's not wrong I'm not sure what your views are on the subject but common core has some serious flaws. Now I'll make it clear I'm not going to say I support or disawow common core but I'll give you an arguement to consider why common core may not be the best.

1. It was good for states that were seriously falling behind in comparisons to other states in the US for example Mississippi it forced them to rise a general standard considering how poor their education system is over their. But it also did the reverse it took states that had a stronger public education and forced them to go down in standards for the sake of conformity, so that everyone would be learning the same thing. The issue is not that common core is necessarily bad it just that it was forcibly implemented on everyone. It should of been recognized that some states had a better education standard and by forcing core on the entire states you are improving the system for say the bible belt states but bringing the standards down of the east coast and west coast states.
To put it as simply as I can it removed the competition from public schooling systems now that there is a standard forced by governments public schools don't need to innovate or improve their curriculum because if its not core they lose funding. And to top it off Parents don't have a choice in public schools now before you could look around for the best school even outside of your district but now that the standard is the same it doesn't matter too much. Now I mainly only gave arguments against core because you seem to like it so I'm assuming you already know the pros.

yeah, good teachers are good teachers and i do believe common core is a better method of math than not, but it was implemented wrong, i do agree with you there. but i don't think we should remove it all together
