Well yeah there isn't a "magic pill" but the "cure" for cancer is in either a retro-virus to specifically attack the cancer cells (which I suppose could be put into a pill, but would be more effective if injected) or they could prevent the onset of cancer in the first place through genetic manipulation, i.e. turn off the DNA sequences that cause the cells to grow out of control.

Both are still beyond modern science right now, but they're getting closer every day, especially since they finished mapping the human genome in 2003.

That sounds like it sucked man. As far as lines go, the picc line and the hickman are pretty uch the same thing. The pick just goes for an artery in your arm and snakes into your chest, where as a hickman goes directly into the chest and into an artery. The hickman is usually used for older patients doing things like chemo, and a picc is for treating diseases and such like you had, since it's easier to put in and remove, but harder to maintain over time.(sorry for the random knowledge that you probably don't give a shit about)
