Tbh I'm not really sure how to put it into layman's terms.

Erm. A logo is a small symbol that could be in the middle of a piece of paper and look great, by itself. If you printed that out, it'd look like it was missing something. That's because the hands are cropped off, and because the logotype (the word part of your logo as opposed to the symbol part) is such a small element of the actual design.

You could get away with removing the hands and just using Mac's Media Hub, that would be a logotype in place of a logo and completely justifiable. But it still wouldn't be a good logo.

Haha, thanks. Yeah the logo actually is made of V's and X's in different sizes in a special font, then vectorized and symmetrified in post. Speaking of Skrillex' logo, a music promotion company I'm working on with some friends uses essentially the same font for the signature "logo" that gets put on album covers.

Made this in like 5 minutes, but the team liked it, so we kept it.

That's not a logo. In more ways than one. I am actually a graphic designer, so I can help you with that.

Music Production. Getting bases covered while I try to get good at it.
soundcloud.com/vexaton/mittens-remix-3/s-JKsL1Unfinished and highly experimental, but meh, it's one of the better examples I have

I like this, as an image. But your logo is not recognisable as a logo without all the extra stuff in this picture, and this here is way too busy to be a logo. I like the concept, it's a very solid concept and a method that a lot of professionals use, you just need to tweak it.

This is an album cover, not a logo. It's a generic space filler for untitled Soundcloud post, and I didn't make it ;)

That's why I said I liked this one, and that your logo isn't recognisable as a logo without all the extra stuff in this particular picture. Don't use a smug ass wink face when you actually asked for a critique.

Well, I could add the extra bits in my original logo. I've been thinking about that actually. And I asked for critique on my logo, not this one, since I didn't make this one.

Professional opinion, your logo is off balanced. I would consider going down the 'lightening strike' route. Or something like this, that incorporates the VEX of your name a little more clearly.

Hmm. I might actually take some ideas from that design. Thanks, man.
