I get your point. I do. But it's not like it's not happening/already is now. I mean, there is NO way for a "peasant" (random citizen) to become an official or a president... Only the very rich and influential have that chance... Imho the current democratic system is not actually all that different from the monarchy, only now there are a lot more "nobles" and a "puppet" king. Which is sad.
You also have to remember, most of the history about the past kings (the various Louis from France, for example) was written by the victor (in this case democrazy xDxD see what I did there?) which is why monarchy is often regarded as a bad thing.

PS: I think it's funny, but imho the anime "Code Geass" has a right idea of how a monarchy should be in relation to who will inherit and how to keep it strong (minus the racism of course)

I'm all for a constitutional monarchy, with the head of state being the monarch and a elected body acting as a sort of bureaucracy/failsafe. We'd have an evident ruler in times of crisis who would be able to proceed with more difficult decisions efficiently whilst simultaneously having the people's voices heard in the parlament or equivalent house of representatives.
Oh, and as for people who argue that monarchy is "outdated and archaic" and that it "wastes money", check out this video on the subject of upkeep and tourism solely;

That is actually false, a lot of people think that the Pyramids were build by slaves, but they were actually made by well-regarded and well paid workers, let me find

Wow thanks for the new knowledge. But still in some situations a leader can become corrupt if not balanced out by another branch such as a congress. But if the leader is a truly good one then it could work.

I stick to the thought of: "Monarchy actually gets shit done"... I mean, look at the tallest building in the world in Dubai, or the great Pyramids... Monarchy got shit done...
User avatar #192 - iLime (02/22/2015) [-]
Well it can get stuff done, but sometimes it's not in the best interest of the people such as the pyramids where a *large number of people i don't exactly no how many* were slaving away day by day literally because they were slaves.

Thank u for reading. There's a ton more details to this conversation most ppl avoid. They just want to make a choice and feel righteous about it instead of actually investigating anything valuable. Immunization is complex and imperfect like many medical and scientific applications that can't be so easily condoned or condemned generally.

If you're just basically informed you should be aware that "trained professionals" are a lot less professional than you'd like to believe. There's so many shitty doctors out there but they wear a coat so trust em, right? That's retarded man. Also the very basic principles of immunization make it pretty clear vaccinations are not a black and white issue. There's situations where they work great and situations where they pose more risks than benefits that have to be evaluated individually and thoroughly. I'm not asking for the biology of it but basic principles can lead you to the conclusion that things are not always perfect, especially medical treatments.
