lets go with the assumption "its shit" then

get:
980 ti
750W power supply
16 gigs RAM
processor of AT LEAST 3.40GHZ and with AT LEAST 4 cores, anything above is good
just run a compability check for all the shit you pick out and get a motherboard, the motherboard isnt that important, its just somethiing to tie all the pieces together
get a decent screen, i run 4K dual monitors.
steelseries mouse, razer keyboard (this is mostly preference) and a solid headset with 5.1 surround or better
and if some faggot tells you to get anything but a nvidia GPU then call him a pleb

you know what fuck it

Consoles used to be able to go as high as a pitiful 30fps.
Now that the new gen have 60fps, i don't see the point of using frames as a foothold for making fun of how crummy the frames are on consoles.

We kind of have the same frame rate now
User avatar
#53 - unikornking (11/06/2015) [-]
The only triple A games I know of that have 60fps are cod and the new halo, and even then 60 is just the minimum on PC for a decent experience, if you got a 120hz monitor it's much better at 120.
User avatar
#57 - trimageryan (11/06/2015) [-]
Besides the new Halo has absolute shit graphics a lot of the time because they made a thing called "Dynamic resolution" because it was the only way to have a constant 60fps. I'll give them it though, it's an impressively stable 60fps, but the problem is that it's forced to make a lot of sacrifices to do that. Thanks to the dynamic resolution bits, during combat or heavily textured scenes the resolution could go as low as 800x600 which is just atrocious for 2015. Plus even in the lowest quality areas the texture rendering distance is terrible. Most of the dynamic shadows only exist if you're within 10 feet of them and even the level shadows are only there within 20!

Personally I'll never see why people who play console accept that they're being limited so damn much by consoles outdated tech (which is singlehandedly slowing the progress of gaming) in this day and age yet still paying $400+ for this box that demands you pay a subscription to use the internet you pay for. Plus you can't upgrade it, customize it, or do pretty much anything at all to it or the service it provides. I don't see why people chose that over a PC especially when you can build a PC that can outperform a console in every way for less than $450 and from there you can do whatever you want. The money you'd save on steam sales and not paying for online alone would make the PC pay for itself in roughly 5 years.
User avatar
#59 - unikornking (11/06/2015) [-]
I dunno bout 5 years, depends on price of your build, I've only bought like 2 60$ games this year, and I imagine that number is a lot higher for console dudes
User avatar
#61 - trimageryan (11/06/2015) [-]
Definitely depends on your build, but for the build I was talking about (a bit less than $450 USD) it could easily pay for itself within that time.

Hell, with stuff like all 3 Bioshock games on steam for $10, how could anyone not switch over?! Plus the summer/winter/general sales are absurd. I think the last $60 game I bought was MGS5 and that's only because I'm a massive MGS fanboy and needed that game to consume my life immediately. Before that I can't even remember. Epecially with all the cool free games on PC like DoTa, League Of Legends, Dirty Bomb, WarThunder, etc.

I have been meaning to try out Warframe but haven't ever gotten a chance. What game would you compare it to?

I've been getting down on skyrim to pass the time.
#138 - warframe (11/06/2015) [-]
Fuck yeah man, the game is awesome, one of the smoothest playing 3rd person shooters I have ever played.

If you haven't already made an account, use my invite link and you'll get a 7 day XP and resource booster warframe.com/signup?referrerId=514ceb8d1a4d80253900005b . Also, if you have any questions hit me up, if you add me as a friend I'll help you out whenever Im online.

The game has some pretty awesome mechanics that can be confusing at first, but I would suggest not using warframe's forums, they are full of idiots that give horrible recommendations and advice. If you like the game, it's not really a grind. It starts off really slow so you have a chance to learn the game mechanics and combat system.

#66 - unikornking (11/06/2015) [-]
Third person shooter, hack and slash, horde. Similar to Destiny I suppose, it can be grindy, though the F2P system is very fair.

That's good, I hate to see those sort of grindy systems turn into Pay2Win circlejerks Lookin at you PayDay 2

It sounds really interesting, I'll definitely check it out. Thanks pal!

A warning though, it can be a tough game to enter for new players, I've been playing for 2 years so I'm not sure how bad it is, but it takes a while before you can get off your feet. Devs are pretty cool though, they do an hour livestream every 2 weeks talking about upcoming stuff, and there are weekly content patches, and 1 huge update every 2 or so months.

I'm sure it won't be too bad. I pick things up pretty quick. Plus I've been playing League of Legends, CS:GO, and Dark Souls for years so as you can tell I love steep leaving curves haha.
