Sure, ill take you on that, Game of the year, completely lost it's meaning, But these games are usually enjoyed by a large majority and are usually played for years to come and are still enjoyable even then, I don't see how these games could possibly be failing,

But if that's what you believe then I have no right to change your mind

Sure they're not failing but they're still getting far more praise than I think they're worth at the least, Skyrim sure as hell is.

it felt allot like black flag, which is my favorite AC game so far, unity is so far one of the few assassins creeds to actually have me consider the surroundings and come up with ways to assassinate enemies

i need to get rogue already...
User avatar #79 - hydraetis (06/17/2015) [-]
Though maybe I'm just bad at games but I still found it much harder to fend off 20 enemies in Unity than in Black Flag. In AC3 and AC4 unless there was a objective demanding that I stay hidden, I wouldn't bother trying to do so because mowing down all the guards was way easier than trying not to be seen. But in Unity, unless the guards were all low level there was no way I'd be taking down a horde of them, at least not without spamming various consumables like smoke bombs and stun grenades.

"assassins creeds to actually have me consider the surroundings and come up with ways to assassinate enemies"

That's one of the main things that impressed me about it. And if you thought that was evident in the main game, the 5-star heists were even more about it, ESPECIALLY if you played them solo (which I had to do).

AC does not punish you for going full stealth. I know because i have beaten games 1-3 while using full stealth mode.
User avatar #76 - hydraetis (06/17/2015) [-]
The whole point of stealth is that it's supposed to make your life easier.

Like the 5-star heists on Unity.

If I just run in all willy-nilly, sure I might still be able to kill all of the guards but there's also a very good chance that they'll kill me instead, because chances are those 4 guards are going to turn into 20 as the alarm goes off.

If I employ a proper strategy focused on not alerting anyone, I can get into the building and have 2/4 chests opened in less than 3 minutes. And if I'm lucky, one of those two chests will be the one I need, and then I can swiftly exit the building and be finished the mission in 5 minutes with maximum payout.

Same shit for Splinter Cell. in one of the coop missions, if you planned poorly and just ran in like an idiot you were going to have major issues. But if you took the time to figure out the map and devise the right path, you could go through and beat the mission in no time at all, with enormous rewards to boot.
User avatar #71 - hydraetis (06/17/2015) [-]
Yes it fucking does, because going stealth is vastly more of a pain in the ass than just charging in and killing everybody. If there's no punishment for disregarding stealth, why even bother going stealth in the first place other than just for the hell of it?

You didn't disprove jackshit.

The fuck kind of stealth game punishes you more for going stealth than for running in guns blazing?

So were you hoping to get in on the conversation where you just went through a thumbed down all my comments or are you just looking for a petty victory? I'm not having much luck with the other guy, and seeing as how it's obvious you disagree with what I said. I just wanted to pinpoint which part it was.
