There's always fiberglass body-filler...but it might just be cheaper to get a new one if you don't wanna repair the old one yourself.

I'm assuming you're driving the V8 '03 Envoy. Let's hope for your sake it's not the Denali edition...

Buy the part from RockAuto, find a local guy who deals with them and can get it for you for roughly the same price, or get it from a junk yard as noblexfenrir suggested. Take it to an autobody specialist. Let them paint it. For simplicity's sake, let them install it too.
And I might not want to say it, but there might be some actual damage underneath the bumper. Styrofoam molding might be busted, and there could even be some bent mounts. There are also little plastic retainers that may be broken, as well.

It might cost $500-$1000 to paint...so yeah :/ Accidents are never cheap.
Drive safe, heheh.

yes, the bumper cover.
i derped one day and kinda scratched it.
wanted to know how much it would cost, so i took it to local mechanic, they said it was $2000.
thank you for the advice! its probably not a very common part in shops, so I'm assuming the cost is just for labor of searching for the part.
#41 - huidaman (08/04/2012) [-]
If you simply scratched it, you can just get some sand paper and sand down the plastic. Grab some bumper putty and fill in the grove caused by the scratch (do not put too much...it will look REALLY bad once painted), then prime, and take it to someone to get painted.

#38 - huidaman (08/04/2012) [-]
If you're talking about the actual quarter panel (rear fender?), then yes...those are really expensive to replace. Still, $2000 is kinda way too much. Get more quotes, good sir.

rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
That's where you should order it from if u live in the US. Keep in mind tho: paint fades over time. If you paint it to your car's original color (there's a color code possibly on your driver's side door), it will look...off. Take it to wherever to get it painted properly.

Really not surprised, mainly because older cars they commonly don't make the parts, they just get them from wholesalers who might have them or junk yards. and depending on how easy it is to find, it can really be a bitch to get ahold of. (I have an 02' mercury sable and I fucked up the lens on my back light, paid 250 for it.)

If they actually do have to make it then you're obviously paying for some labor before labor and the resources like using the machine and what not. OR they might not have the machine and have to pay a shitload to have it made, meaning they have to first make back their investment from you.

Basically they really aren't ripping you off (on parts, not on labor they do sometimes on labor) but there are alot of variables when it comes to replacing parts and their costs.
User avatar #26 - thenez (08/04/2012) [-]
the cost is just for the part, no labor involved.

thumbing down every single upload to newest uploads doesn't improve you chances of having your ****** ass content make it to the front page.

It just makes you look like a butthurt faggot.

And don't even try to lie and say you didn't, the moment the newest uploads from earlier today were an hour old, you were listed as having thumbed down every single one.
#2 to #1 - huidaman (04/02/2014) [-]
Fantastic that you noticed.

I simply went through each of the newest uploads, one by one, and thumbed down every one that:
1: I saw earlier that day
2: I saw earlier that week
3: Did not make any sense
4: Was not funny
5: Was an obvious "This shouldn't make it to the front page, but hey...I'm just going to leave it here because I've seen similar random posts make it to #1"
6: I saw earlier that day
7: Was a boring screenclip of an anime show
8: Was an uninteresting YouTube video
9: Was an unfunny screencap of a game
10: I saw earlier that day.

Also, if you'd pay attention, I haven't actually uploaded anything to this website since October of 2012. I just comment from time-to-time, and go through the highest rated (and newest uploaded when I run out) and thumb accordingly.

Or...perhaps I should do it anonymously, like yourself.
