We kinda do, but it's not some totalitarian regime the post makes it out to be. There's always one guy who stands out as the leader either through charisma or just being the guy with the most fun ideas. The ones "below" him are happy to be there because of convenience and the "alpha" will change depending on the circumstances of the day to day. Women are the ones with the rigid pecking order and the ones who actively try to increase their "rank" or decrease someone else's.

Yeah we do, most alphas get their influence from clearly being in charge. My friends are the same except it's who's the most autistic and the most autistic is the "alpha" except he has no influence and he's basically just the most autistic guy.

Spoken like someone who isn't at the head of the pack...
Jokes aside, there is always a pack mentality. We aren't creatures of the herd or flock. The problem is, packs aren't so fickle as to fall apart because the alpha didn't get laid. Dudes are actually happy to see other dudes succeed. This post is running under the assumption that men hate the success of others as much as women do.

"We aren't creatures of the herd or flock"

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's exactly what we are.

Before your wolfaboo exposes itself further, wolves don't have that supposed pack structure either. They have family units. The whole alpha/beta thing has been disproved.

The only people who think people have a pack structure are the insecure and the people who have convinced themselves that they're the alpha.

The preferred term is social dominance I believe. The pack leaders are the parents, yet those two still act in a way that puts them first in line for food and the younger ones lower down.

The leaders still have to intervene to stop fights within the group, but will rarely suffer attacks against from other pack members, which is the misconception. For all intents and purposes, there is a male alpha and a female alpha, no matter how you word it. People just don't have a proper knowledge of wolf social situations is all.

>implying units of humans don't naturally develop hierarchy and leadership positions
We aren't herd or flock animals by definition. We are pack animals. We don't graze, and we don't use our numbers to keep safe from predators. We use coordination between groups for specialized tasks to compete in the wild.
And I never claimed to be an alpha. I never mentioned my position in the social hierarchy at all, or even how to define that position so I don't know where you get off insulting me like that. I never mentioned wolves, so I don't know where you get off to that either. If anything, we're more like lions: a single alpha at the head of our pack as a whole (gang leader, tribe chief, president) with all the rest taking on a sort of totem pole effect, where we establish individually who is above who.
