She also talked about why the boss did what she did.
The B0ss Boss' original mission was to infiltrate Volgin's organization to steal the philosophers legacy and her cover to make that mission possible was for her to defect, in the mean time Snake was sent to "save" Sokolov while this WAS a real mission it's main purpose was to further distract Volgin's attention from the possibility of The Boss's introduction from being suspicious
Another way to seal The Boss's intro was for her to bring a gift that being the Davy Crockett (heh Crockett/rocket) which The Boss's higher ups thought Volgin would simply use for non-lethal testing purposes, obviously they were wrong.
Now the Russian president calls the American president and demands an explanation, the American president gives the usual "we're not involved one of ours fled to you and yours it's her fault" then the Russian president says he wants proof so the American president suggests removing The Boss and the Russian president agrees.
Cue the operation "Snake eater" it's objectives being kill The Boss and retrieve the philosophers legacy, with Snake only being informed of the first one.

I should have probably explained that all of this was explained throughout multiple cinematics my bad

The game was a cacophony of stupid bullshit. She was no hero to anyone who has an idea of what loyalty is. She was a patsy, a knowing patsy, of a system that wanted her out of the way as a sacrifice. She let herself die instead of taking said people out when she was perfectly capable of it.

Also, she never told her protege the truth and gave him a god damned lifelong mental trauma because of her own selfishness that resulted in a FUCKTON of people dying all so she could have her moment. Nah man, she was no hero.

She was a hero, she was a woman who was betrayed by her nation that she followed until the end. She was in a sense a hero, however, because she followed her duties until death to prevent the world from being fucked up.

She put up a fight, yes, but in the end she knew her student would kill her, and she was alright with this because she knew it was for the good of the world.

Very well. The Boss was given the task of infiltrating Volgin's group and recover the philosopher's legacy. One of the ways she was to get on Volgin's good side was to offer him the Davy Crockett Missile, however no one knew that he would use it to nuke Russian soil and cause an international shit storm. Eventually she was blacklisted by her own government and marked for death as a way to make amends between the US and Russia. She was to be dispatched by her protege aka Naked Snake. She was well aware of her role and did everything she could to make Snake as skilled as possible in order to complete his goal and save the country she loved and sacrificed so much for, which was also the same country that wanted her dead. She used her Cobra Unit as tests since they were all people who were considered the best of the best and people she cared for. Eventually she succeeded in training Snake into the greatest soldier ever and awarded him with a fight to the death, even though she knew what was at stake she did not relent and fought her hardest to make sure he completed his objective. She also played a role in assisting Snake indirectly. She knew what would happen to her yet she didn't back down from her objective.

Eh I just like how the mgs story is deep enough that it can be explained in so many ways. though ffs I really hope there so many cut scenes in TPP as there was in GOTP and I hope with Kojima gone that Konami don't fuck it up.

The thing is that this is just a bit of the Boss's story her story is much deeper and complex than this I liked the cutscenes I'd have a snack ready for them since it felt like a movie. Well Kojima was there for the whole process, but he's not the frontrunner anymore though

Well the thing was, he used it like 5 minutes after he got it. It was a gesture to help her get into his ranks, eventually she was going to take it back and dispose of Volgin as soon as she had the Philosopher's Legacy.
