#20 - ********, they barely taste alike  [+] (24 replies) 10/02/2016 on Vodulyeder Upamumit +7

You wouldn't know the difference if the substitutes were any good, there are some vegan "meatballs" that I've had which taste better than real store-bought meatballs. And that's according to third-parties as well
Not to mention that if this actually happened, the people here obviously don't eat at Olive Garden much and probably haven't eaten meat in a while. You'd just think it was really good fake-meat and probably wouldn't notice until you became incredibly sick a couple hours later. Which you would because you lose the enzymes for digesting meat
Whoever did this is an asshole, somebody's dietary restrictions are nobody else's business. Doing this makes you a bad person, whether you agree with veganism or not

True - vegans are much more sinewy than meat eaters I've found

"substitute" food with "healthy" alternatives is some of the most disgusting shit I've ever tasted, I once ate a sweet pie made of fucking onions and tomatoes, needless to say it upset me stomach and made want to die
also, organic does taste better most of the time, whether that be from lack of preservatives and additives or higher quality is debatable, but I can tell

Penn and Teller Organic Food Test There's even a part later in the episode where they cut a normal banana in half and call one half organic. Guess which one the people said tasted better. It was the "organic" half. Organic food doesn't taste better, it's just the placebo effect.
#55 - infinitereaper (10/02/2016) [-]
nah I don't buy that, the only test that matters is a double blind study, bannas are a stupid choice to begin with because there is no true "organic" alternative and actually bannanas are among the "cleaner of foods you can buy.

I'm talking about shit like spaghetti sauce, noodles, basically anything that is preserved. Run of the mill processed foods taste cheap, because they ARE cheap. Organic foods use a simpler preservation/growing process, it's more expensive but it's also higher quality.

Even if you can fool my tongue you can't fool my stomach.
I've always proffered organics both in taste and in pallet.
But basically,
you get what you pay for

If you say so. Sometimes nightshade pesticides get used in place of regular pesticide with organic foods, so remember to wash your food, I guess.

#51 - infinitereaper (10/02/2016) [-]
nigga organic =/= soy
because of the way food processiing works, basically, non organic food tastes cheap (because it is)
organic food tastes better either because it's higher quality or because the processing It requires is much simpler and imo just better to begin with, or even both
