Yes, it is the driving force behind him, but the events that caused him to be who he is gets 0 mention in him whatsoever. It's as if it was a useless piece of backstory that doesnt matter to him anymore since now it is just "Yeah, I'm Ironman, big whoop. Who wants to get drunk and eat Shawarma?"

And hey, you can hate the DC films if you want, I hated Nolen's trilogy mainly because of the audio imbalance between scenes made it unwatchable. At least with DC movies, they acknowledge that bad things do happen. In all of their films, it seems to be "Alright guys, lets spend 5 minutes clearing the city of any people left in it and once that time limits up, we can do our thing!" and after waiting that 5 minutes, the city will be empty besides the good guys, bad guys, and the 1 or 2 random civilians needed to help make sure that you can see a hero do something heroic, possibly die in the process, but not before giving some horrible one liner and wait for the cinema to finish their laughter like a dora the explorer episode. Once the fight is over, they assess the damage, and in a weeks time, everything will be back to normal. In the DC movies however, they will acknowledge that people die, that horrible things happen to good people, and that damage can't be avoided. Yes, Doomsday destroyed a part of Gotham, at least it isn't as bad as a city being lifted into the sky, and gently lowered back down.

I have yet to judge a movie before actually seeing it, so none of what I have said will apply towards Civil War since I haven't watched it. I do have some hopes for the future movies (Both DC and Marvel) but as I said, no judgement for them until they are released.

it... kind of is, especially when you put together what it means for the movies. If they had done it right, they would have had the second Avengers become so much better. Ultron wanted to kill all life essentially to help protect all life or some shit like that, people will end up killing each other, so if he does it now, he can rebuild a better society that wont fight. However to what Tony said, how he wanted to help protect people and everything, that seems fairly standard, but that is only the base superhero in him. If they instead went with the first Iron Man PTSD moment though, it would have been more of a driving force to wanting this AI to protect people, more of a reason to do it, and more of devastation on when it all fails. But of course we know Marvel would never do this, because it is all about one liners for them, and horrible dialogue for everyone else including this one horrible line. Looped for your viewing pleasure ytcropper.com/cropped/YV5730393daaaa8 . People say that DC did the moment poorly, I say Marvel missed a huge opportunity, especially since Tony Stark becomes magically cured from what was bothering him.

but it's tony's kidnapping and mishandling of his weaponry that IS the base superhero driving force in him.

but oh no when i meant the shitpile i'm sorry but i meant that moment in bvs but pretty much the whole movie. But i can extend that to all of man of steel after russel crowe's segment. Green lantern too. In fact most modern DC movies apart from Nolan's trilogy (and even then that had nonsensical scenes like BIG GUY FOR YOU) were mediocre at best.

I'm sure the rest will be fine though, fucking aquaman and wonderwoman and (kek) shazam will be great masterpieces for sure

it didn't really make too much sense for him though. If he should be having those panic attacks about anything, I would have it as the event that essentially created IronMan, the event that made him go "Oh shit, everything I've been doing is wrong!" and ended up nearly killing him for the first time. While that sequence is what drives him, when they launched the missile in the Avengers film to blow up the city, that should have been the "Oh crap, I cant handle this" moment as he knows the true terror of what is happening. Instead, we get an Ironman 3 event that just says "I have to build robots because I need to protect us from aliens." when it should have been "I have to build these to help protect people, to help undo everything wrong that I have done."

Wait, what? People seriously thought Batman v Superman would be about them fighting? When the fuck has there been a "someone vs someone" film where they actually fought and there was a winner? It's always either a common enemy that unites them or they settle their differences and become pals, despite trying to kill eachother 15 seconds ago.

Frankly, if Civil War had been just Cap and Tony, it would have been the exact same as BvS. The main reason they actually fight is because they have enough characters in it to keep the constant fighting interesting.
#105 - anon (05/15/2016) [-]
I thought Civil War was fueled by so much more personal stuff. Not just a generic villain taking over the world. This time the villain succeeded. The fighting had so much more heart and drive in it, that's what really got me. I loved it. BvS was OK, I didn't hate it, but a lot of it was boring and they revealed the complete outcome of the fight in the trailer.
User avatar
#97 - donatelo (05/15/2016) [-]
"Someone v someone" implies a fight against eachother as the central point. All the marketing pointed to them fighting as well.

You are absolutely retarded if your thought process right now is "errr you thought they were supposed to fight??"

What's that got to do with anything.
I mean I never said they asked to hide the butt completely and you never said people asked to hide the butt completely so what are you talking about?

You asked why they thought the second pose was lewder and I told you it's because the pose was used for pinups and we can still see the ass that was the source of the complain in the first place.
User avatar
#54 - herecomesjohnny (05/15/2016) [-]
yeah and the focus is on it a lot less, and it adds to her playful character. That's not lewder.
User avatar

D-did you miss the part where I said it was used in pinup? I mean I said it twice already but...

You know what pinups are for right? You understand they're lewd right?
#64 - herecomesjohnny (05/15/2016) [-]
that's not how it works, here's a pinup of a chick on a chair. Not especially lewd. You're acting more and more autistic to save face it seems.
User avatar
#65 - sugoi (05/15/2016) [-]
They were made to be lewd, just because you desensitized yourself to the horrifying fetishes of the internet doesn't make them less lewd.

Calling me autistic kinda just drives the point home as only someone on the internet for an extremely extended period of time would use autism as an insult.

And it's a girl in a bikini, you don't consider that lewd what are you gay?
User avatar
#67 - herecomesjohnny (05/15/2016) [-]
no you retard, we're talking poses here, if tracer would be in her suit sitting on a chair it wouldn't be especially lewd. A pic of her flaunting her ass would. How hard did the doctor drop you on your head?
User avatar
#68 - sugoi (05/15/2016) [-]
The pose was the same one used in a pinup therefore lewd.
???
Does your brain not work or...?

a lot of various poses are used in pinups. Not all of them inherently lewd. I'm sorry though, i'll cut you some slack due to a chance you're just having an epilepsy fit and trying to type for help on your keyboard
User avatar
#70 - sugoi (05/15/2016) [-]
Yes, people consider this and use a pose thats lewd.
Do you see them striking the superman pose? nope, do you see them sitting down legs splayed and leaning back? no.

Are you actually this retarded? Jeez I feel sorry for you actually. Well no not you but your parents.

I literally cannot come up with a solution that doesn't involve biotech.
Basically, we either evolve quickly enough to outpace our self destruction, or destruct before we ever get there. Kind of like a bug that goes through metamorphosis. We're stuck in the larva stage.

I could say that we ought to get rid of corruption, take some right steps, but I don't know if that's even possible anymore. I'm hopeful for this election, but I could easily see corruption and status quo winning.
