It is. If you scored 650 the first time, then scored 700 the second time, that makes a huge difference. My guidance councilor, years ago, said that 700 or higher is good for almost any school.

Dayum, I don't know if thats really tru though.
I've had plenty of friends barely do 50 points better than their first score even with a tutor

Yeah we started my junior year of high school, I'm now starting my third year of college. It just got annoying driving up every other weekend and I don't want to go through it again. Don't get me wrong, I love him, but it's just not what I want/need right now. We also didn't enjoy the same things. He loves Jeeps and snowmobiles and off roading while I love my video games, horses and conventions.

Many of my High School friends changed when they went through college. I consider College the ultimate test for a relationship. I know one couple who started in HS together and went to the same college and stayed together there as well, they are engaged.

So is it impossible? No. But it's rare. Both of them were a good fit for each other too. I.e. they were the same on the attractiveness scale (no homo), similar interests, and not super dependent on each other.

Pretty sure being "important to the show" hasn't stopped GRRM before. He wrote the books in such a way where anyone can be killed. People thought Robb Stark was too important to die too. But in real life, important people can be killed just as easily as the unimportant ones.
He is really quite dead.

No way they'll kill him off, not like this at least.

Ah, nevermind. I thought you meant that Oberyn wasn't going to die and was too important for the show (in which case I was like... did you SEE the last episode?)
Book spoilers: As of Winds of Winter, Tyrion has escaped and is still alive and kicking it out east in Essos.

Fair enough, but Rugby is very easy to transfer to Football (if you're talking about American football). And Boxing I agree is a solo sport and probably isn't valued at all.
User avatar #136671 - hawaiianhappysauce (06/02/2014) [-]
I don't know. Football is the most competitive sport to get into, and colleges tend to scout for Highschool students who show exceptional talent (and intangibles). Sure Rugby is a physical sport but it's a very different sport, and you are at a disadvantage since you cannot prove to these universities that you have what it takes to be a football player. This is especially true for a high tier universities that have financial goals to meat in their football games.

But I don't think it should matter. If you get good grades, do well on the SATS (or ACTS as makotoitu pointed out), and demonstrate leadership in a role, then you should be fine. Honestly, I don't understand why you wouldn't try to go for Oxford anyway. It is in fact in England where Rugby will have significantly more value.

Actually that happens a lot. Sports bring in a lot of revenue, so a good football team is more beneficial then letting in a kid who can barely spell his name.
User avatar #136654 - dragx (06/02/2014) [-]
I wasn't referring to that. I'm a member of Mensa, Rugby Regional player, and National Boxer for my age group on top of that I've had a book published. I'm achieving a lot more, that should be enough to imply my value for the College.
