What if the Saints go 7-9 and play at home against the wildcard Seahawks, and only win because they have home field advantage?
It'd totally make up for the 2010 season

My point is, would you rather have Jay Cutler or Ryan Tannehill as your QB for the next few years?

In other words, would you rather have Tannehill or Wilson / Kaepernick / Luck?
User avatar #36974 - blazingpelt (11/24/2014) [-]
Luck and Wilson obviously over him, but Kaepernick is one I'd think on. But on that note, I'd definitely take Tannehill over Geno, EJ, Weeden, or even RGII. Which puts him at 3rd in the 2012 draft class, not counting Foles who I'm still unsure about.
User avatar #36981 - hawaiianhappysauce (11/24/2014) [-]
I would pick Foles over Tannehill. Kaepernick is similar to Tannehill but more athletic and more accomplished, so I would pick Kaepernick over him as well. There are also QBs like Carr who I think are really good, they just have a horrible team.
User avatar #36983 - blazingpelt (11/24/2014) [-]
It's a little early on Carr for me, but he's definitely promising. I don't judge Foles because of the incredible regression this year; I don't know which is the real Foles.

Tannehill, but compared to any quarterback who has had a long career like Cutler, Cutler is the worst of them all by far. Most teams would NEVER sign a deal to keep him. On the other hand, I think Tannehill is not as good as some of the younger quarterbacks who were drafted in the last few years.

Tannehill looks pretty legit, better than certain """"elite"""" QBs at least.
#36977 - repostsrepost (11/24/2014) [-]
if you consider Russell Wilson or joe Flacco or Dalton or Cutler elite than Tannehill is arguably better. As an NFL qb he is not in the same league as Luck, Brady, Manning and Rodgers though. He is good enough to win the games that they should and not fuck up too much.
User avatar #36969 - hawaiianhappysauce (11/24/2014) [-]
I disagree, I think Tannehill is the reason why they lose games. Their defense, special teams, running game is legit though. But every game against good teams (patriots were not a good team weeks 1-4) they find a way to lose. Green Bay gets a game winning TD with 5 seconds left, Detroit gets game winning TD with 30 seconds or so left, Denver gets game winning TD with about 2 mins left and Tannehill gets picked off. I just see a team that has players who are overachieving as individuals, but as a team they are underachieving. And because they have to play the vaunted Ravens and the red hot NE patriots team, they might go 10-6 and miss the playoffs because of the Chiefs and because of how inflated the AFC North is.

I don't think they will make it all the way this year, but in the coming years they will be a threat.

They keep it close between the top-tier teams though, they've been getting better over the years.

I don't see KC or the Fins going far in the playoff. They are both pretty much the same team with a great defense, alright QBs, and have a great run game.

User avatar #36959 - hawaiianhappysauce (11/24/2014) [-]
Defense wins championships. Seattle has the best defense in the nfl and GB has a good defense as well. Patriots defense is shakey. They got lucky against detroit because detroit's offense gave away about 20 plays (missed deep passes, Stafford sliding too early on 4th down, no running game).

that's gonna be a barn burner, Packers maybe at home but Patriots on role, and destroyed a Detroit Lion's defense that destroyed us.
#36914 - subtard (11/24/2014) [-]
Packers have looked great at home, but their first 4 home opponents are a combined 14-28-1. And the last one was against Mark Sanchez who was responsible for two packers TDs.

You mean the great cleavland defense that gave up 124 yds/ 2 TDs to MIke Evans. Steve Smith hasn't broken 50 yards since he's played the all powerful ATL defense, there he got a whopping 67 yards. Tom Brady hasn't had a bad game since KC. Colin hasn't had a good game since he played STL the first time this year. Drew Stanton had 306 yards 2 TDs, Brees had 342 2 TDs, Matt Ryan 228 2 TDs all against the DET D.
User avatar #36815 - hawaiianhappysauce (11/23/2014) [-]
Mike evans is clearly the best receiver on that team, whereas White is a number 2 receiver, behind Jones.

Even if he plays I doubt he'd be 100% and they're playing Miami who's got a solid pass D. I picked up Fleener from Indy for this week.
