There are more reasons to believe God doesn't exist, than there are reasons to believe that God does.
God himself could have created the universe, but he sure wouldn't have given us any hint of his existence. The existence of the holy bible alone violates his respect of "free will", as it suggests the "right things" and "wrong things" as well as their designated punishments. This system has been exploited with punishment to dictate laws and rules, and even use it to obey man-made laws that it did not support.
The bible, while it supports "love of its people" also was fine with slavery and all of that. We're not following its rules as much, and there haven't been consequences.
Isn't it also interesting that all of the major biblical events stopped happening after the invention of a camera?
Look, I want you to continue believing because it teaches moral lessons and to love thy neighbor. The world needs this kind of love. I think the bible is great for some mental health as it also helps coping with death. Ever since I realized that my death will be unceremonious without a possibility of afterlife, i've had panic attacks about the end of my existence on multiple occasions.
Let's think about this.... maybe even "God" himself regrets the bible and how it's been used.Maybe he's also convincing people that he's not real so everyone can truly live with free will and his rules. For all we know, he could be walking among us, telling us he doesn't exist, while possibly enjoying a cup of coffee with us at a cafeteria.
After all, he doesn't believe in a higher God, so he's an atheist himself. He doesn't need to please his own ego, he's "god", what's there to sully? A lot of things are possible.
I think God /COULD/ exist, but probably didn't design us or care about us. I think he's just probably a really bored guy with too much power. He could be lonely too.
