well at least we agree on QM lol

I'm no medical professional, but I fucking love that my eyes are not constantly sore now that i have IPS monitors. It was every day because I needed to stare at screens every day. I suppose it wasnt permanent damage because it's so much better now and I still dont need my glasses pretty much ever

the fact that the ways screens refresh are the differentiating factor and your eyes are the ones blending the refresh rate into seamless motion and bluing the pixelation into smooth images.

You can get eyestrain from looking at monitors, fact.
the causes of that eyestrain are not the photons 'bruh' but how the pixes are refreshed and displayed/illuminated...

I took physics I, II, III, and Quantum mechanics too buddy. Granted it was a while ago in engineering university, but it's not all just "photons bruh" lol

okay so eye strain and CVS are no more dangerous than going for a run and having sore legs. They dont do any damage.

I actually just finished my BSc, extended major in physics this semester. QM was actually a lot less interesting than i was hoping. Just a shitton of linear algebra and not much actual thinking

update cause sources are fun

new monitors are better

monitors in general are bad

my point on % of vision field is essentially just logic

eyestrain from CRTs is significantly worse than LCD, specially ones that are LED back-lit and use IPS.

Technically, if more of your visual field is taken up by a CRT there would be more eyestrain.

You are right that there would not be permanent damage per-say but eyestrain from modern screens has been significantly reduced.

got any evidence to back up your claim?
I cant see the two cases being significantly different physically.

but there is no real benefit from this choice because 95% of the people playing aren't gonna give a shit and the 5% of people who care are gonna be annoyed when their preferred method isn't shown so in putting this in you have 95% of your community being impartial and you guarantee that 2.5% of the community is annoyed with the decision and 2.5% is glad about it. So why bother?

It's like if you could decide the time of day for each map. Nothing changes with this decision it's not easier to play one way or the other but half of the community is always gonna want it to be day and the other half is always gonna want it to be night so why make the disparity why split the community like if the decision means effectively nothing to the gameplay why put it in at all?

as somebody who doesn't play the game, I have a compromise:
show the object that did the work by default, but allow the option of pov change for people who think they know better.
I believe a it's important to keep in mind that most people go with the default option in all facets of life.
