I ride a bike, and came off in the carpark at work today (first time in 8 months can explain why if you care ) and as i was just moving my bike, i didnt wear any leathers/protection and i gotta say, people who wear just clothes when out and about are not only crazy but brave. I couldnt imagine the pain of coming off at high speed, all my skin is rashed up from doing 15/mph!

maybe. More like an accident that he took full action to prevent.
Was he in the wrong? Yes.
Was the people in the town in the wrong? Certainly as well.

Genocide is fine if you're a bit annoyed
User avatar #98 - daniboyi (08/21/2015) [-]
No. That is why I said the giant was in the wrong as well.
Just saying that if the people of the town had reacted differently, they wouldn't have been wiped out.
#81 - anon (08/21/2015) [-]
Not only did the giant fuck up, but he also destroyed a building in the town (a church no less) and killed a few people, yet he had the nerve to feel entitled and hurt when the townspeople lashed out at him for his fuck-up. I think the giant was completely in the wrong. The townspeople would be dickish IF and only IF they could do more damage. But they can't. He can't even feel their little cannons and arrows, and he didn't have to kill them all.
User avatar #166 - aproudpatriot (08/21/2015) [-]
calm down for fuck's sake, it's a joke in an animated movie.
User avatar #84 - daniboyi (08/21/2015) [-]
so... moral of the story is that people can be as much of a dick as they want to, but as long as they don't hurt you physically, it is completely ok?

I rather see a person that tries to be a dick and fails punished, than a person who makes a mistake and tries his damn hardest to fix it. The first had malicious intentions and aimed to hurt, the other had only good intentions and tried to cause as little damage as possible.

There really is, some cats are like almost TOO domesticated, or they have medical reasons, any variation of hairless cat should be kept indoors in a moderated environment, and other breeds of cat are essentially too docile, like straight up a rag doll cat outside is going to try and make friends with everything, the neighbors rottweiler, the cars, electric fences, it's literally for their safety, but obviously not all breeds have to be
User avatar #14 - dontshoot (08/18/2015) [-]
you might get red thumbs but i totally agree with you. Dont own a cat if you dont plan on letting it outside. Its a small predator that needs room to run and explore not a hamster or fish
User avatar #49 - therealfell (08/18/2015) [-]
yeah? what about dogs?
they're hunters, they like the outside but nobody lets them run loose to shit in peoples yards, attack other pets, kill birds, possibly get hit by cars, possibly get trapped and released in some field somewhere, possibly get poisoned by a cat hating neighbor

it's a BAD idea to let your cat loose. get it a leash and let it run around with that.
User avatar #53 - dontshoot (08/18/2015) [-]
dogs are large they run and bound as-well as barking at everything. Dogs are generally not as instinctual as a cat. A dog will run up and jump all over a new person possibly scaring them a cat would probably not even approach them and even if they did it would be slow and deliberate. Cats also have a instinct to return home which dogs for the most part do not. There is a reason you see missing dog posters more than missing cat posters. A dog can just up and disapear if a cat is missing its probably been eaten which is sad but its the circle of life.
User avatar #56 - therealfell (08/18/2015) [-]
on top of that, I'd take the advice of a veterinarian over some random dumbfuck on the internet any day. go ask your local vet if it's safe to let your cat outside. I guarantee the answer is no.
so many things can kill your cat outside.
User avatar #55 - therealfell (08/18/2015) [-]
man have you looked at the fucking animal shelter? there are WAY more cats there than there are dogs
and hello, there are a huge amount of small breed dogs
I've had a random cat jump in my car, before.
and another danger. my cat when I was little always got in fights with other cats
he came home with a torn ear, once. and there's a big risk of feline leukemia when that happens.
User avatar #39 - funbaggy (08/18/2015) [-]
Cats can have a very large impact on the local ecosystem. If everyone let their cats outside it would be extremely irresponsible.
User avatar #34 - darknak (08/18/2015) [-]
My outside cats were all eaten by coyote or killed in any other way (probably stolen too). If you give him somethings to hunt and play or bring outside inside (like plants) it's possible to make him happy inside.
#29 - vigilantej (08/18/2015) [-]
no it fucking doesnt house cats do not need to be let outside my family has owned a few and they where all happy but you know how many people i know whos cats have died due to disease ect from being outside or getting killed by other cats quite a few

Cat live longer and healthy lives indoors, just make sure they can play.
#11 - klille (08/18/2015) [-]
while i don't agree with the notion of an "indoor cat" is a terrible idea so do i see where he comes from

a human too would live longer if he was locked in a small confinement, aslong as it's fed, cared for and given some pastime activity. but would it be a life you would want?
#57 - Spitfirex (08/19/2015) [-]
**Spitfirex used "*roll picture*"**
**Spitfirex rolled image**I do understand why its cruel, but like your example, your feelings are from a human viewpoint and while humans are animals too, its unfair to compare a cat to a human's Consciousness. One example is sonder, while a cat is sitting there looking at the fridge, he usually is simply looking at the fridge, while he's owner is wondering if the cat wants to eat, does he want to jump up top, or does he like feeling the cool air from inside. We imply complex and vivid thoughs to our companions. While most cats are happy with just hitting a ball around all day or meowing at the neighborhood cat, most humans have more complex goals, ex. get a promotion at work or finish college.
#33 - vigilantej (08/18/2015) [-]
you are fucking stupid if you think cats are miserable inside my roomates cat hates outside i have tried takign him out to see what he would do he hates it and ish appy inside cats do fine indoors if they are played with otherwise this whole argument would also apply to dogs but also take the kid in the candy shop example just because something would rather do this doesnt mean its good for them moron get a kid and i bet he would prefer to eat candy and drink soda vs eating healthy but do you let the kid gorge himself on candy? no unless you're a terrible parent also my dog loves human food but it would fucking kill him so i dont let him eat a lot of it also he would love nothing more than to eat chocolate do i fucking feed it to him? no because i know whats best and being let outside is irresponsible or any house pet as they are not wild animals and if cats did so much better why are feral cats life expectancy less than 3 years and they are riddles with diseases and parasites
User avatar #28 - cognosceteipsum (08/18/2015) [-]

#32 - klille (08/18/2015) [-]

I'm free to go outside and yet I spend the vast majority of my free time in my room...
#8 - anon (08/18/2015) [-]
At least it's not wiping out the bird populations.
Unless you have a pen for it cats should be kept inside.
#17 - widar (08/18/2015) [-]
People thumb this down for some reason, but it's true. There's far too many cats in suburban areas. I think just in my immediate neighborhood there are something like 10, while wild cats usually claim huge territories for themselves.
Now, I don't blame the cats, but the fact is that they kill a lot of small birds. Obviously that's in their nature, but it's kind of weird how there's no regulations at all for cats despite this. Dogs aren't allowed to just go around, walk onto other people's property, hunt wildlife, etc. The owner is responsible that the dog doesn't do any of that shit; if a dog is hunting, after warning the owner once, hunters here are allowed to shoot the dog. So TBH, I prefer when people keep their kitties indoors.
User avatar #30 - cognosceteipsum (08/18/2015) [-]
Dogs are more violent and unpredictable though
User avatar #18 - dontshoot (08/18/2015) [-]
Cats make no substantial impact on the population of small birds. they do however make a great impact on small rodents. so you can thank feral cats for keeping a large portion of mice out of your home
User avatar #20 - dontshoot (08/18/2015) [-]
www.nytimes.com/2011/01/18/science/18birds.html
10-20 billion birds are in the United states. If 1 billion is correct which i doubt, I can live with cats killing that many. Looking out side my window I currently see 3 crows. maybe a cardinal? and a uncountable number of of those little ones who sometimes fallow hawks and peck at their feathers. My cat (who is currently outside probably hunting) sure is making quiet the impact on the local bird population
It does mention cats killing birds. It also mentions how pesticide kills more.
#22 - widar (08/18/2015) [-]
So domesticated cats killing 1 out of 10-20 birds every year is acceptable to you? Okay...
What's the issue with having some regulations for cats? Indoor cats don't seem unhappy at all, at least the ones I've met. Having so many cats packed together in suburban areas simply is a little much.

Also, you may be fine with your cat hunting in your garden, which is okay, but cats don't know where properties end. A lot of cats just waltz through our garden, and I (and the rest of my family) don't really want that. Shooing them away does nothing. Again, I don't blame the cats, but I really don't like the fact that these cats come into my garden to hunt. Nobody would accept a dog doing the same thing, even if it was the size of a cat.
User avatar #23 - dontshoot (08/18/2015) [-]
probably because cats don't dig up gardens and there not loud and obnoxious. I will concede something that you do not know. I live on a farm so spacial areas are not necessarily an issue. My cat does however travel into my neighbors yards but they love it. It keeps there gardens and small out building clear of rodents and rabbits. (yes bunnys are pests if you have vegetable you know that). if a bird doesn't fly away it was not longed for this world.
#26 - vigilantej (08/18/2015) [-]
cars re not loud or obnoxious? my ass i have shot cats outside my house before for fucking mewing loudly and nonstop also lots of times there little shits you know how many asshole cats have tried to attack my dog when we are simply walking and hes just on a leash not even going near them? (yes i kick the fuckers when they get close)

My cat is terrified of the outdoors. If I try to carry him outside to do anything, he freaks out and claws the shit out of me in order to sprint back inside.
