Let's just say Rome is able to put their military where their mouth is. They were able to cure cancer with nanobots and the Scandinavians built a giant nuke canon and used it to launch a nuke at Rome (the city). Said nuke got taken out by an orbital satellite laser defense system.

Well, after a quick search it actually is from the Superpowers alternate history. Here is a complete Map. I'll try to explain the empires:
Red would be the Roman Empire
Maroon (or dark red) is the Mongol Empire
Light Blue is the Japanese Empire
Green is the Mayan Empire
Light Green is the Inca Empire
Black is the Zulu Empire
Pink is the Scandinavian Empire
Purple is the Great Chiefdom (federation of native american tribes)
and finally Cyan is a Muslim Caliphate (I think it's modeled after the Ottomans)
The Romans, Japanese, and Mayans have a tight-knit alliance and have joint-operated colonies on the Moon and Mars circa 1980s.

Basically, he wants to Follow the Constitution, The Document held above all other Documents for legal purposes in the United States of America.

You see the Constitution Guarantees our Rights and our Freedoms, and NOTHING can take them away. However for years and years countless corrupted politicians and business men have been sneaking in Unconstitutional Laws and Taxes, taking away our Freedoms AND our Prosperity.

America would still be the World Leaders in Industry and Wealth if were to go back to when it wasn't Illegal to ask the Government Questions or ask why a Cop shot a defenseless Person. When these things happen it's called "Tyranny" and should be the Farthest thing from what America is, sadly Tyranny is EXACTLY what America has become.

Ron Paul wants America to be Free, Ron Paul wants America to be Strong.

That is why THE MEDIA hates Ron Paul.

"countless corrupted politicians and business men have been sneaking in Unconstitutional Laws and Taxes, taking away our Freedoms AND our Prosperity. " can you give me some examples?
User avatar #158 - lieutenantderp (12/16/2014) [-]
There's flaws with the Constitution though, and as much as I love Ron Paul I do disagree with a few of his ideas.
#294 - anonymous (12/17/2014) [-]
You do have to keep in mind there will very likely never be a candidate with whom you agree 100%. If Ron Paul is to be considered an evil, he is, imho, the lesser of them all by far.
User avatar #307 - lieutenantderp (12/17/2014) [-]
He's by far from evil. He is the best there is right now, and I only disagree with a very minor few of his issues, such as that he places family ahead of the individual, a concept that I think may cause issues.
User avatar #159 - ReeferTrees (12/16/2014) [-]
No.

There are no flaws in the Constitution.

The only flaws you think there are is simply a twisted left-wing mutilation of what it once was.
#274 - anonymous (12/17/2014) [-]
Lol you fucked moron. The entire point of the constitution was that it could be changed to suit our needs.
User avatar #160 - lieutenantderp (12/16/2014) [-]
Well slavery for one wasn't exactly covered in the initial Constitution, and you have to keep in mind that the Constitution is the greatest legal document in human history not necessarily because of its original contents as much as its flexibility. Also there's points that's not exactly clear, like the right to bear arms, which I'm totally for. Where to draw the line, though? I'm pro assault weapons.
User avatar #194 - commontroll (12/16/2014) [-]
The Bill of Rights said nothing about slavery, because the forefathers believed that moral dilemmas should be sorted out by the individual states and the people, not by the government. The reason the Civil war broke out was because both sides were wanting to have the entire nation have its laws based on their views, and the federal government was gaining more power than intended.

Also, as oceanfrank stated, it can be amended and added to, but the rights we have cannot be taken away legally.

Essentially, the Constitution is supposed to be as barebones as possible because forcing the entire nation to follow laws is going to leave at best a large amount of the people angry and upset, and the best way to avoid pissing off half the country is to have individual states decide how to run things, while the Federal government is in charge of keeping track of things and national security.
User avatar #241 - lieutenantderp (12/16/2014) [-]
Even if individual states decide laws (and mind you, raw, uncontrolled democracy is the definition of the tyranny of the majority) that blatantly abuse individual rights of its citizens?
User avatar #309 - commontroll (12/17/2014) [-]
Nigga, I never said democracy is the way to go, I'm just saying pissing off half the nation over a heated moral debate (for example, abortion) is going to cause strife and could potentially lead to a civil war, as evidenced by our past. America is and always has been a republic, and I do not suggest nor want democracy as it is, as you said, tyranny of the mob. But letting the states and the representatives of the people (who are voted in by the people, that's where the democratic in Democratic Republic comes from) decide on the issues for their local regions or states is a far better bet, due to different lifestyles and different cultures among different states.

An example for different regions having different views on a topic because of their landscape as opposed to culture, is gun control. Some people in cities want to take away every guns from everybody, while in the farmsteads of Idaho, farmers need guns to kill wolves that can kill their herds and flocks.

Forcing all of the nation, full of 315+ million citizens and God knows how many residents and illegal aliens, to agree and follow the same moral laws is like herding a thousand cats into the sea. It's not gonna happen.
User avatar #312 - lieutenantderp (12/17/2014) [-]
What about more obvious issues like public segregation or even slavery (I'm not black, I just can't think of any more obvious examples)? Do you wish to leave those to the representatives of the majorities of individual states?
User avatar #313 - commontroll (12/17/2014) [-]
It's hard to say, seeing how segregation was a result of what happened from the nation deciding on a moral dilemma on a federal level. Though slavery would have come to an end with the introduction of better machinery, just like it did in the North. The main problem was that until that machinery was created the South's industry was dependent on it, and slavery itself was a massive industry as well. Should it have been? No, but at the same time, it was a fairly new concept as far as history goes to have slavery abolished.

Anyway, I'm beginning to get off topic. With the nation trying to force the whole country into anti or pro slavery groups and any new states were alternating between slave and free, it caused a lot of strife and tension. Debates got worse and worse, people murdered each other over it, and eventually a war broke out that killed more Americans than any other war to date. I think that would have been avoided if people didn't butt into everybody else's business on a national level, and slavery still would have ended with enough scientific advancement, and the South wouldn't still be recovering from the destruction the North unleashed on them. Immigrants wouldn't have been forced to fight a Civil War they just moved into, and carpetbaggers wouldn't have oppressed Southern states, which led to the creation of the KKK, segregation, and plenty of riots and laws that are still in place today that were intended to disarm both former Confederates and freed slaves.

Other things could have come up, but I really do think having less federal decisions would have avoided a needless war that caused so much trouble for so long. Laws cannot change the hearts of men, nor culture. But the hearts of men change culture which changes the laws.
User avatar #316 - lieutenantderp (12/17/2014) [-]
Segregation was decided more on a state-by-state basis. Slavery never took hold as much in the North, it wasn't because of industrialism. Climate and the crops the North produced simply didn't work as well with mass plantation-based slavery as cotton in the South.

I think the Civil War helped in South in the grand scheme of things. Slavery would have hijacked and continue to run the Southern industries (no need for industrialization because massive labor force exists) for a very long time, until which cotton is no longer as profitable. Then, imagine, an entire South with millions of slaves without proper work to do but still under the ownership of their masters, while the economy and industry, both of which hadn't been diversified and would still be based (mainly) on cotton and thus would be totally outdated and useless. That would've destroyed the South.

And in the end, as an American I believe fundamental human rights to be first and foremost in this country, and slavery is something that shouldn't be allowed to exist at all.
User avatar #189 - oceanfrank (12/16/2014) [-]
The Constitution can be amended however. I dont know why you're being voted down tbh you're right about a bunch of rights and articles in the constitution but the founding fathers intentionally left it vague and up for interpretation because if they were to set something in stone then the country would have collapsed after about 3 or so years due to inner disagreements and shit. It'd be cool if we could all come to a consensus and NOT HAVE FUCKING POLITICAL PARTIES LIKE GEORGE WASHINGTON SAID NOT TO DO in order to justly and unanimously come to an agreement as to what certain articles and amendments mean.
