For what purpose? You're basically showing off your half-naked body to a bunch of mostly overweight males in their 20's on a random board related to chinese cartoons. Is it really the place to look for recognition?

Oh, hello there. It's been going pretty poop lately, I'm still looking for ways to make my uni schedule more agreeable. I don't want to skip too many lectures since it will affect my grades but I can't study properly either when I'm away from home from early morn to late evening. Ah, well, I'll manage. Apart from that , things are around the same.

How about you? How have you been lately?
#249 to #248 - kavrick ONLINE (02/07/2014) [-]
I'm pretty good, college is a bit boring atm because i'm not really doing anything till my programming course next year. It's been a bit weird for me though recently, with the whole "i fell in love with a guy business", i'v been pretty unstable though emotionally, sometimes i'll be thoroughly depressed and other times i'll be in a really nice mood. I'm a lot more open minded now though and people have said i'm a lot nicer now though which is good.
User avatar #250 to #249 - greatboobya (02/07/2014) [-]
Yeah, I'm not doing anything much at university right now either. I guess first year is always relatively non-busy. Our French professor is pretty lame, her teaching methods suck ass. I guess I'll have to study a lot on my own if I want to pass the exams. Today I'm kicking back and doing nothing, then I'll study all weekend.

I'm glad you had a mind opening experience, if a bitter one. You do seem to be nicer and more laid back nowadays.

The mood thing is a pain in the ass, though. I'd know because it's my everyday reality. My emotions and moods are all over the place and I'm very prone to depression, especially at this time of the year.
#251 to #250 - kavrick ONLINE (02/07/2014) [-]
Whenever i get depressed i talk to luca about it, she really helps.
User avatar #252 to #251 - greatboobya (02/07/2014) [-]
Talking about it never helped to me. My depressions would last from two to four months and during them you kind feel...disconnected? Just wishing to be your old self, that sort of thing. You feel like you're not in tune with reality. It's a miserable state of mind.
#253 to #252 - kavrick ONLINE (02/07/2014) [-]
I guess it depends what you're depressed about, my loneliness gets to me a lot, so even if someone's just pretending to care, it's still something.
User avatar #254 to #253 - greatboobya (02/07/2014) [-]
You feel bad when you're lonely? Interesting. I greatly prefer solitude, I find it healing. I've never agonised over my lack of friends.
#255 to #254 - kavrick ONLINE (02/07/2014) [-]
I normally prefer being alone too, but because of recently i'v realized how nice to would be to have someone who loves you, as gay as it sounds. I'm not even that interested in sex, just cuddling sounds amazing to me.
User avatar #256 to #255 - greatboobya (02/07/2014) [-]

Sounds pretty minor to me. It's not like they'd kick you out into the streets. Once you'd show that their punishments don't phase you they'd eventually give up. What kind of relationship do you have with your parents to fear them so much?

If my male parental raised a hand against me I'd report his ass. Just because they somehow managed to produce you doesn't mean that they have a right to treat you like an object. And having set bedtimes is plain ridiculous after age of 12. Just a step away from forced nappy times.

That so, eh? Last year when I still went to school I used to bed at 3 am or so and nobody gave a **** . Though I was scolded for behaviour like that back in 8th grade as far as I remember. I had my comp banned for two days.
User avatar #218 to #217 - captainpickles (01/15/2014) [-]
But 2 days of no comp would kill me

I have a plenty of stuff I could do without comp like working out, drawing, writing or reading. I think unlimited comp is actually hampering my progress in everything. But then again, now I couldn't do my homework without comp at all.

I wonder if you'll still have forced bedtimes in uni when you might have some lectures which end at 9pm. and then you have homework to do.
User avatar #221 to #219 - captainpickles (01/15/2014) [-]

Aww yeah! Thanks for the book. I'm probably going to be reading it extremely slowly since I hate reading things on a computer (real books are the best) but I'd be an idiot not to read the source of The Twelve Kingdoms.
User avatar #144 to #143 - greatboobya (01/06/2014) [-]
I'll send you the rest once I get my hands on them. You're most welcome!
I prefer real books as well but I could never afford them, can't get any foreign books in my country and general books cost 35 dollars per unit. Libraries have very little to offer apart from local classical and russian literature and that's about it. Buying online would be even worse since postage costs a freaking ton, can go up to 7$ per 100 grams.

So I bought a tablet computer and now I'm in a book paradise.
User avatar #145 to #144 - Draserszes (01/06/2014) [-]
Yeah, I have no idea why books are so expensive nowadays. It's **** . The last book set that I bought was so expensive I was cursing on my way out of the bookstore. I mean, I rarely ask my parents for anything, but $150 for a set of books? I only bought it because it was something I really wanted to read, and it was cheaper than buying the books individually. Luckily, now that I moved to Australia where everything is expensive as **** I found a used books store. It should be cheaper than a normal bookstore, so I'll check it out when I have the time.

It's a good thing you got a tablet, I suppose. Doesn't it hurt your eyes after a while?
User avatar #146 to #145 - greatboobya (01/06/2014) [-]
Australia...it's like the land of my dreams. You're lucky, mayun.

Nah, the tablet doesn't hurt my eyes, I can read day in day out and I don't feel any kind of side-effects. It's very convenient, I can have a whole library with me and I bought the tablet for mere 75 dollars.
User avatar #147 to #146 - Draserszes (01/06/2014) [-]
Australia is great, yeah. The people are friendly, the weather is great (if you like hot weather, unlike me), and the streets are generally clean. It's really expensive, though. And it's kind of lonely here. I'd be meeting the one and only every day if I could, but we haven't settled down yet. We're still looking for a place to stay, and doing that requires a lot of paperwork. And in order to get some of that paperwork, we need an address. See the pattern?

I kind of grew up here I lost the accent when I moved away for a long time so don't expect me to have it! but moved to Morocco, which was the greatest and worst idea my mother ever made. I made some amazing friends over there, and I probably wouldn't be who I am today if I never moved, but I had loads of bad memories there, as well. I've never been to Lithuania so my comparisons may be inaccurate, but when you and pickles talk of Lithuania, I kind of think of Morocco. It's a really ****** place if you don't have money, and most of the people who live there hate it. I could go on and on about Morocco but I'll stop here. I don't want to ramble.

Huh, that seems convenient. Maybe if I find a job I could save up for one of those. One book I've been wanting to read is The Drifters. A friend of mine read it and said it was amazing.

And I really have a problem with general populace here. It's extremely judgemental towards, well, everything. For example, there was a gay pride parade about a year ago or so, one of the first ones in this country's history. 1000 or so people were calmly marching, while they were surrounded by a furious mob of about 5000 which had to be kept away by police force. The crowd was ready to kill these people, I **** you not. The next day they washed the streets and stated "we're clearing this place of AIDS".

Everyone who is at least slightly different is bullied - different nationality, race, sexuality. Being of a different skin colour is enough to warrant you to get beat up and robbed. Nobody comes out of a closet here cause it would equate to a death sentence. This place reeks of middle ages-like mentality.

The children are brought up with a nationalist mindset from a very early age, as soon as they start going to school. They brainwash them into believing that their country and their nation is superior in every way in comparison to the rest of the world. Then they start scaring them away from emigration once they get older. While I was in school we were constantly told that emigration is a sin. We are casting away our souls for material gain when we move out of our "homeland". That's what we were told, I **** you not. "Once you leave lithuania your spiritual connection and identity is torn off and your become a mindless, soulless shell, chasing after material goods, doomed to life of emptiness. You can't be happy without Lithuania.". They just try to scare people away from leaving and the only way to ensure that is to brainwash the young generation.

Well, I think I could create a clear image of what Lithuania is like in a few short sentences. 250dollars minimum wage, and a large percentage of people don't get any more than that. Now the heating costs 200 dollars per month. Not to mention electricity, water, and all the other bills. Food is of very low quality and of extremely high prices. Food here is pricier than in most European countries where minimum wage is more than 2000dollars. What about such "luxuries" as hobbies, clothing or general dignified living? So yeah, kind of living on your own is impossible unless you get married and throw in your meager earnings together, or just stay with your parents.
The people who "love" it here are usually undereducated people who don't know any better since they can't get information from abroad (foreign language education is close to nonexistent, I'm a self-taught), and the kids of rich parents who want to play patriots or whatever.

Sorry about my poorly structured paragraphs, but there is just so much I tried to stick in, heh.
User avatar #150 to #148 - Draserszes (01/06/2014) [-]
That's almost like Morocco. The minimum wage there is around 10 dirhams per hour, which is about 1 dollar. Most of the food is expensive there, but you can generally find cheaper prices if you go to the market, so that wasn't a huge problem for us. If you want clothes of semi-decent quality, you'd have to pay a ******** , so most people just go to the black market to buy clothes. That's where you find the stolen stuff/ **** quality clothes. I did find an awesome pair of shorts. They got ripped a couple of weeks after I got them, though. If you're someone from outside coming into Morocco, it's a pretty cheap place, but if you grew up there it's a whole new perspective.

I suppose thanks to the black market life isn't that bad, if you know who to go to.

And in reply to your post about the populace? Holy **** Lithuanians seem almost identical to Moroccans. When I first went to school there, there was an American kid in my class who seemed like a loner, and didn't talk to anyone but his older brother. We talked a bit and it turns out the other kids in class bullied him just because he was American/Christian. The class soon started to shun me as well because I became his friend. This lasted for about two years until he left the school and we all matured a bit. I guess the fact that it was an American school managed to give the other students a right mindset. I've seen some horrifying public schools. Now, Moroccans are generally very welcoming, but 9 times out of 10 they want something from you. If you're a foreigner, they expect you to have a lot of money and will thus try to get some out of you.
They're also huge backstabbers. Save for the few good people I know, most of them are ******* venomous. The people are corrupt and would do anything for just a little bit of money. The police are real ******* pigs, and I'm not saying this because bandwagon. If they hear of a fight on the street, no matter how big, they won't come unless there's bloodshed.
User avatar #152 to #150 - greatboobya (01/06/2014) [-]
Don't even get me started on corruption. Lithuania ranks #1 in the world when it comes to it, I **** you not. Every ******* institution is rotten to the core.

Black markets are big here too since close to noone can afford stuff in regular supermarkets (which, by the way, get their **** from the same black markets but put pricey tags on them so people would feel fancier when buying **** ). I get most of my **** from black markets since there's no affordable way around it.
User avatar #153 to #152 - Draserszes (01/06/2014) [-]
Yeah, I once saw our local convenience store owner buying from the black market. Except he puts the merchandise up at their regular prices, ******* prick. I guess most third world countries are the same.

Most of the youth in Morocco are involved with drugs. They take a drug that basically renders them fearless and somewhat immune to pain while they're high. It also makes them violent. So yeah, you can imagine what happens. Most of them carry around knives, so they get into fights over the smallest **** . Some of them cut themselves instead of others, in order not to hurt them. That doesn't mean they wouldn't take the first chance to **** you up if they could. In fact, I'm surprised I never got mugged or stabbed (or both) when I was in Morocco, considering the amount of times I went out in the middle of the night, alone.

Man, **** third world countries.
User avatar #154 to #153 - greatboobya (01/06/2014) [-]
**** third world countries indeed. I certainly wouldn't risk going out alone at night, while drugs are not widely used here, people are just violent because of violence. Go out alone after 9 pm, stray away from slightly more populated streets a little bit and you're almost guaranteed to get raped, beaten up, or robbed, or all three at once. Rape is close to non-punishable here, especially if your victim was older than 18. Police just don't give a **** , not to mention that 20% or so of the police force was fired a year ago.

Anyway, I should really get to doing muh university practice tasks, gotta hand them in in a week and I haven't even started. Have fun in gloryland Australia!

Right! So I started Nana a few days ago, and I'm about halfway through now. You wanted to know what I though of it? Well, I absolutely love it so far. Usually I'm not into this kind of series because I can't really relate to the female MCs, but Nana managed to get past that. Every episode leaves you wondering, impatient to get to the next one!

I kind of messed up, though. The download I used has two different subbers and one of them subs episodes 21-36. I forgot to put those in the playlist, so the anime skipped directly from episode 20 to 37. I was confused as hell until I decided to check the episode number. I had already watched more than half of the episode, so what I'm assuming are some pretty big events, got spoiled for me. That didn't discourage me, though. I still want to know how the **** things got to how they are. Man, this anime sure caught me off guard. I think this'll be one of my favourites, when I'm finished.
User avatar #112 to #110 - greatboobya (12/02/2013) [-]
Though, during music parts I usually just switch to english dub because engrish in the original one is a little heavy on the ears.
User avatar #139 to #112 - Draserszes (12/05/2013) [-]
Yet another update! Just tell me if I talk too much!

I watched a couple of episodes form The Twelve Kingdoms, and I'm liking it so far. I really like the soundtracks as of yet, and the concept as a whole seems really cool. I like all those mystical beasts.
User avatar #140 to #139 - greatboobya (12/05/2013) [-]
Yeah, I found the world truly mesmerising in away. I didn't like any of the characters at the beginning but they gradually grew to me, the character development is truly brilliant in this anime, you'll see. Especially the MC, I hated her at first but then by the end of the series she became my second-favorite character.
User avatar #141 to #140 - Draserszes (12/05/2013) [-]
Yeah, MC is kind of annoying at the moment. Her and the other girl.. uhh. Yuka I think. Asano is just... there. So I don't really have any opinion on him so far.

I love it when character development is done right, so I'll take your word for it!
User avatar #142 to #141 - greatboobya (12/05/2013) [-]
Alrighty! Have fun, I'll get back to doing muh homework.

User avatar #125 to #124 - greatboobya (12/04/2013) [-]
Cool, I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I finished BECK yesterday, it's a good watch, very different from most anime out there, though the ending felt a little bit rushed. Do you know any other interesting anime about music? No, not K-On!
User avatar #126 to #125 - Draserszes (12/04/2013) [-]
I tried watching K-On! twice and I just couldn't get into it. I've been looking for some new music anime. I heard Detroit Metal City is good, but it's more of a comedy than anything, apparently. There's also Sakamichi no Apollon, but besides the fact that it's about music I have no idea about it. I was hoping to find something more like Beck or Nana.
User avatar #127 to #126 - greatboobya (12/04/2013) [-]
I didn't like K-On! but I still managed to get through one season. I watched two episodes of Sakamichi no Apollon but for some odd reason I just can't continue watching it.
Nodame Cantabile seems to be about music and it's on my to watch list. I guess I'll check it out.
User avatar #130 to #127 - Draserszes (12/04/2013) [-]
Oh, forgot to add. Tell me about Nodame Cantabile if you like it! I'm about to start The Twelve Kingdoms. I should be able to get in three episodes before I get sleepy.
User avatar #131 to #130 - greatboobya (12/04/2013) [-]
I'll tell you once I pick it up and watch a few episodes, though that won't be anytime soon as I have final exams this week and the next
User avatar #128 to #127 - Draserszes (12/04/2013) [-]
I couldn't watch more than three episodes of K-On!, and I was terribly bored halfway through the first.

User avatar #132 to #129 - Draserszes (12/04/2013) [-]

User avatar #133 to #132 - greatboobya (12/04/2013) [-]
I like cute too but the world of anime is overflowing with pointless cute already.
User avatar #134 to #133 - Draserszes (12/04/2013) [-]
I can deal with uselessly cute side-characters in an anime that actually has a plot, but a whole cast of uselessly cute characters? Too much. Also, good luck on your exams! I hate the word itself. "Exams", ugh.
User avatar #135 to #134 - greatboobya (12/04/2013) [-]

I'm glad you're enjoying it!
So, I started watching BECK and I'm at ep 14 right now. It's quite interesting and the music is pretty badass. I liked characters in Nana more, though, but that's probably because I'm quite the opposite - it's easier for me to relate to female characters.
User avatar #113 to #111 - Draserszes (12/02/2013) [-]
Yeah, the engrish was a little annoying at first, but I got used to it. Good to see you're enjoying one of my all time favourites!

I really like the characters in Nana, but Hachi is just super annoying sometimes. She's exactly the kind of girl I avoid in real life. She's stupid and superficial. At least, so far. I really like how the anime handles relationships somewhat realistically, though.

Any more anime recommendations you can give me? I've got a couple downloaded already, but more never hurts.

User avatar #114 to #113 - greatboobya (12/02/2013) [-]
I never really cared for Hachi, but she does become a little more likable later on.
Try Twelve Kingdoms, it's quite lengthy but so worth it. One of the best characterizations to ever grace the world of anime.
User avatar #115 to #114 - Draserszes (12/02/2013) [-]
About as long as Nana. Thats's not bad. The synopsis is pretty cool, so I'll see if I can find a download.
User avatar #116 to #115 - greatboobya (12/02/2013) [-]
Alright, good luck with that. I enjoyed TK so much I watched the whole thing in two days.
User avatar #117 to #116 - Draserszes (12/02/2013) [-]
I only have like.. 3-4 hours a night to watch anime, so I can't speedrun anything. I usually finish 12-13 episode anime in two nights, though.
User avatar #118 to #117 - greatboobya (12/02/2013) [-]
I usually have more free time but I have other things I want to do, like reading or just chatting people up.
User avatar #119 to #118 - Draserszes (12/02/2013) [-]
I've done too much reading these past 3 months. I usually like taking my time with books but I just tore my way through the ones I'm currently reading.
User avatar #120 to #119 - greatboobya (12/02/2013) [-]
My reading pace highly depends on my mood and the environment I'm in. I find it really hard to focus when there are other people nearby so my reading speed in public decreases significantly.

What kind of fiction do you like to read? Fantasy? Sci-fi?
User avatar #121 to #120 - Draserszes (12/02/2013) [-]
Fantasy, mostly. But once I'm done with the series I'm currently reading, I'm going to explore other genres. I'm currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire. On the fourth book right now.
User avatar #122 to #121 - greatboobya (12/02/2013) [-]
I've just finished reading The First Law trilogy. I think it was awesome. Right now I picked up two cyberpunk books, I'm trying to explore different genres as well.

I'm sort of new to reading though, I only started reading more seriously back in august or so.
User avatar #123 to #122 - Draserszes (12/02/2013) [-]
I've been into reading for like.. 7 years. Harry Potter got me into books. Though I haven't read much these last two years, now that I've found a series I like I'm indulged. The book I'm on right now is a bit boring because most of my favourite characters aren't present, but you get to know a lot more about some other characters. Just makes you hate them even more, but that's what I love about it.
User avatar #71 - nigeltheoutlaw (12/01/2013) [-]

I defer to your judgement since you're the one with the lady parts.

I just made some scrambled eggs with meat and mashed potatoes and some beef stock to drink, and I'm going to watch Ip Man. My day started off badly with the migraine headache, but the medicine has kicked in so it's going swimmingly now.
User avatar #98 to #97 - greatboobya (12/01/2013) [-]
Any particular cause for the headache? Thy meal sounds pretty high in calories.
User avatar #99 to #98 - nigeltheoutlaw (12/01/2013) [-]
Not really. Stress can sometimes cause them, but they usually come and go when they feel like it.

I'm a big boy who does big work, and I need big food! Plus I just biked over 20 miles in 20* F, so I was pretty hungry.
User avatar #100 to #99 - greatboobya (12/01/2013) [-]

I feel like a retard.
User avatar #77 to #76 - nigeltheoutlaw (12/01/2013) [-]

It's been like this for two weeks or so. My head feels...empty? Yeah, empty. I have trouble putting my thoughts together and even reading has become difficult. I hope this state won't last, it'd be a shame to get ****** marks for my exams just because of a moodswing.

User avatar #84 to #83 - greatboobya (12/01/2013) [-]
Yeah, I haven't had much contact with the male part of the population, so pregnancy is out of question. I don't know the reason for the abnormality, though.

Last time I went to a doctor with a similar problem I was treated pretty rudely because they assumed I was a teenage slut until they found out I was not pregnant. I ended up with no useful information and a very bruised ego.
User avatar #85 to #84 - nigeltheoutlaw (12/01/2013) [-]
Not even through school?

So this has happened before? I was going to say to check with the doctors, but that might not be the most productive thing if that's how they treated you.
User avatar #86 to #85 - greatboobya (12/01/2013) [-]
Not even through school. I didn't have any male friends and I don't think anybody had any interest in me.

I'm a little older now so I might be taken more seriously, but yeah, I'm reluctant to check with the doctors after what happened back then.
User avatar #87 to #86 - nigeltheoutlaw (12/01/2013) [-]
Huh, I figured you'd be pretty popular with the guys.

How long ago did it happen? I'm not a doctor or anything, but I think it might be a good idea to go in case this is indicative of a bigger problem, or at the very least to hopefully fix your outlook so you can focus on school.
User avatar #88 to #87 - greatboobya (12/01/2013) [-]
Well, I wasn't, nor I am now. It's just how it is I guess, I certainly won't go out of my way to make friends or seek a partner actively.

Ever since early teens, I've never been healthy in that regard.
User avatar #89 to #88 - nigeltheoutlaw (12/01/2013) [-]

It does, thyroid disorders is one of the top causes for female health related problems. I guess I'll check in with the doctors once I'm done with the exams. It's about time one way or another, I haven't had my blood tested for two years now.
User avatar #90 to #89 - greatboobya (12/01/2013) [-]
I'm just taking it as it goes, If it doesn't happen then I don't really care.

Not particularly, just some cysts which are usually pretty harmless. I should get my thyroid checked someday, my mom has thyroid problems and they are known to be hereditary.
User avatar #91 to #90 - nigeltheoutlaw (12/01/2013) [-]
That seems like a good way to approach relationships.

Hmm, that's really odd why you're getting female problems in that case. I don't think the thyroid would affect it, but I don't know.

I'm gonna move the conversation here.

Well, you did give off a better impression but with the internet one may never know. I could be a 40 year old sweaty arab with too much time on his hands

Alright, lets have the convo here. More space and more privacy.

Sorry, I got caught up Skyping with some friends.

Don't say that; I'd like to pretend that some people are honest even on the internet, or at least on the social board.

Why'd you stay up so late!? That's never a good idea. Talk to you later then.
